What a cracker of a game, brilliant. Bit of an exhausting night of TV sports, with Federer and Djokovic at Wimbledon and the Tour of France on as well. The Kiwis get a consolation prize, their Women's team won the World Cup in Netball.

Congratulations to England on their 1st world cup - showed why you were the favourites and the number 1 ranked side!
But heart goes out to the very brave Kiwis today. Scrapped for everything and a few moments that swung the game went against them - Taylor being given out, the deflection of Stokes bat in the final over. Very gracious in defeat in the most heartbreaking of circumstances.

Well done to the Black Caps for a fantastic display of skill and sportsmanship. Nothing between the teams but the whim of the gods.

(Also, thanks to Octavious for the kind offer to supply sanders, but we already have a large enough stock of our own).
On second thoughts, we can always do with a few more. I may have been looking at the stocktake form last July instead. Whoops. :-D

Australia might be out of one World Cup being played in England but there is the World Cup of Netball being conducted in Liverpool & Australia's Diamonds have just dished Northern Ireland. Apparently the game to watch tomorrow is Sth Africa v Trinidad and Tobago as there could be a bit of niggle between these fierce rivals.

Aye, but do they have teeth? Not a full set of gnashers, perhaps, but an egg tooth perhaps?

Surely you can farm kiwis fairly easily? Yeah, I imagine the eggs would be expensive, but if they're particularly delicious it could be a new Christmas breakfast tradition

Kiwis have the largest yolk to white ratio of any birds egg, and the largest egg to body size ratio of any bird. Unfortunately as they are almost extinct, it is highly illegal to use one to make omelette.

Should be a good final. Neither team has a particular advantage in terms of conditions. The forecast for Lords is a cool 21 degrees and overcast, so typical summer weather for both nations. England have to be favourites after beating them in the group, but the Kiwis have teeth.

England win. Australia finish up in 3rd or 4th place which is probably appropriate for the team they have at the moment.

@197 for 2 after 28 overs England are looking like winners in their semi-final against Australia.

Yep - full credit to England - you will be deserved victors here. Very disappointing for the Aussies to crumble like this (particularly in a World Cup which usually brings the best out of us) - but the English were a class above today.

Wow.... this sort of thing just doesn't happen

224 looks very doable... Not over by a long way, but England have to be feeling confident.

Starc will be batting soon at this rate...

Australia win the toss and are off to an awful start. Bit of a recovery going on now, but they are looking vulnerable...

The Kiwis got off to a slow start, with a run rate of about 1/6, to end up posting a score that was pretty average, then bowled out India's 3 best batsmen for 1 run apiece, all while keeping the run rate down to about... 1/6, then went on to win what should have been a relatively easy game for India. Congrats! (Also, thanks to Octavious for the kind offer to supply sanders, but we already have a large enough stock of our own).
