It pains me to leave aside the massive potential for humour in these last few posts, but in all seriousness it's rather impressive for a 16 year old to have been able to approach a doctor with the issue that his dick wasn't working properly. I imagine most men of that age would have avoided doing so as long as possible until they felt they had no other choice.
It was quite painful.

For the record, I needed to be circumcised because my foreskin was too tight and it was causing me discomfort following the onset of puberty - circumcision was the solution recommended by doctors.
I bet you doctors got informed consent from you, or possibly your parents...
Yes I consented.

Circumcision of infants is pretty messed up, if you want them to be circumcised (unnecessary cosmetic procedure) they should wait until they are old enough to decide for themselves.

Jamie's example is perfectly fine, 16 is definitely old enough to make decisions about your body.

In his younger years Jamie was a really sweet child, generous of spirit and full of joy

I was circumcised at the age of about 16. I'm perfectly fine this way.

I was circumcised and it didn't negatively affect my life in anyway. Granted maybe I don't know what I'm missing, not having a penis hat.

Are there any people here who have experienced living with both?

The old dilemma of whether or not to mutilate your offspring's genitals remains unresolved? Perhaps it would be useful to imagine what you would do if someone approached your nether regions clutching a blade, and you happened to be armed with an assault rifle.

FWIW I still haven't decided if I'm circumcising my eventual kids.

I'll send you 10 of Jamie's pounds to stop writing posts about your penis

I'll send you £5 to stop writing posts about your penis.

Crikey, do I have do all the heavy lifting? 19th spot up to the top again.
I've had a quote on a bit of cosmetic surgery on my impediment and if you blokes send me enough cash I could get a big snip and have the tiniest penis at WrbDiplomacy, a consumation to be devoutly desired.

There is a clear difference between FMG and circumcision though - one may be required for health reasons, and in 99% of cases does not interfere with the ability to enjoy a sexual life, the other destroys it forever.
You say that, but doesn't the American fascination with the knife result in American men having to resort to lubricant from anything from regular sex to the five knuckle shuffle? I confess that my entire knowledge of Yanky sex life comes from a handful of films so may not be entirely true to life. Indeed it's entirely possible that the idea Americans find artificial lubrication necessary is a work of industrial propaganda thrust upon us by Big Lube to increase sales.
What is this question?

I don't have as active a sex life currently as I used to, but was circumcised during puberty and I'm now in my early 40's, and I've never had a lubrication problem. The foreskin doesn't produce lube (as far as I know). If you're doing it right, your female partner naturally produces the lubrication required.

Jeebus, this is a weird thread.

No idea Octavious, as I am a 10 pound Pom migrant to the lucky country. I can assure you however that I have never required lubricant for self-satisfaction.

Having said that, we should all be wary of the Big Lube lobby.

I'm circumcised, which in the UK is quite rare - but it was due to medical necessity, not some religious or cultural preference.
Same. I just re-read this thread and oh lordie. I do humbly apologise for my testy nature and ridiculously strong views as evidenced herein. An interesting, if embarrassing journey.

I still think its silly to worry about other people's appendages, and the characterisation of circumcision as genital mutilation - especially in cases of legit health reasons (e.g. Phimosis) is less than savoury.

There is a clear difference between FMG and circumcision though - one may be required for health reasons, and in 99% of cases does not interfere with the ability to enjoy a sexual life, the other destroys it forever. If circumcision was removal of the glans - it might come close.
