There is a log of who has been banned and there is a message on every banned profile explaining why they were banned. Every moderator action is logged, as is every user action in general. We do not have a publicly accessible ban list where you can find every user in one place but if you are curious to see why someone was banned, it will always say so on their profile.

High profile players that get banned for forum violations, site violations, or are part of a larger cheating scheme (i.e. Sargmacher) might get their own forum post but we do not make a thread for every multi or every somewhat active player that cheats. Not only is that a completely unnecessary hassle for us, but there is generally no need to explain why someone was banned beyond what is on their profile in that case. If there is, or if their ban was more of a public spectacle (meaning you all might have questions about what happened), there might be a forum thread. We do that on a case-by-case basis and the vast majority of bans or cheating investigations do not necessitate a public statement.

Okay. Interesting.

I think that raises a question why are some bans accompanied by a public forum thread, and others are just brushed aside. Not under the rug but just sort of silently administered. Hes a pretty big name to just ban without an announcement... wacky

I also saw condescension was banned but for multi accounting? Did that ever get announced? He was a very active, very vocal forum voice and player. Yea he also was repeatedly silenced. But multi accounting too? Lol

I believe he was silenced or something of the sort and tried to get around the punishment by making another account.

Well, most forums I goto keep a moderation log. And usually for transparency sake its public. This site has paid donors, so you certainly hope those donors care about whats going on. I really doubt anyone would ever sue you guys for being unfairly banned...

But it sounds like youre saying you dont have a record of who has been banned and why...

I feel like with as many mods and admins as yall have, that simply cant be true...

That's an interesting question. One of the admins will have to weigh in. I understand the desire to be alerted when someone, that you know, is banned.

I don't think there's a security reason per se, but it would require a lot of moderator time to manually keep a record of bans and unbans. That said, we could theoretically post "high-profile bans". Where do we draw that line though..

Oztra was indeed banned. This was never mentioned to anyone but themselves, so it's no surprise you've missed it. Now that you bring it up, I don't even think their mentor was alerted. That may have been a good idea.

Can we get a public moderation log which is updated each time someone is banned?
The reason I ask is other than banning the spam bots you have to actually go through and find users accounts to know if they were banned. For example I just discovered oztra is banned, and I dont think that was ever even mentioned. I played in several games with him.
In the past public threads were made for forum bans and even silencing. Is there a security reason for never mentioning multi, meta bans?
