Get arrested whilst engaging in Political Activism outside new Chinese Consulate in Joslin Adelaide on Tuesday in support of Myanmar Democracy Activists, Tibetan Freedom Activists, Uyghur Human Rights Activists and Australian Democracy. It's always good to send the Cannon Fodder like Daffy Old MM over the top in the first wave out of the trenches to storm the Imperialist Warmonger Dictatorship's totalitarian regime

I started out as an aerospace engineer, turned to Quality Food Assurance for Pillsbury. I now own a small bakery in a resort community to be near my grandchildren.
So, I decided to buy my retirement house first.

Building energy efficiency engineer. But really a business owner who has a stable of engineers in the company. I am writing a book. I love history. And I cut and split fallen trees into firewood. Lots of it.

I'm a Marketing and Sales Coordinator at a marketing agency startup and also a server at Applebee's on the side haha. The former is my first real job and I'm still settling into it, I'm pretty young.

I was going to say "I write code from my mom's basement" to be funny...

But that of course would be a lie. I am old enough now that I own my basement.

Theory11?
I don't do magic, but I have to say Theory11 makes some amazing playing cards that I do adore.
An amateur magician who does not do magic... perhaps that is why you remain an amateur? :-D
I am not Yoak ;)

Most of my career was spent doing software engineering and later tech management of Internet companies. Now I've joined a small consulting firm helping other companies on product and tech issues.

I live in Southern California, and probably will through when my kids become adults, but I think I'll probably live elsewhere after that. I'm also an amateur magician, working mostly with cards and some smaller stage stuff. That's how I got so good at making my supply centers disappear.

27. Factory worker at a plastic extrusion company. I still run lines when needed, but mostly supervise and help newer guys now. Outside of dip, I like drinking in dive bars and moshing at local metal shows. My wife thinks I'll grow up some day.

Matchmaker as in an agent of Eros or as in a friend of pyromaniacs everywhere?
I intended the first... but I HAVE made waterproof matches and sold them to desperate boy scouts...

... Now, I play ... EVE Online.
Which alliance are you in? I played EVE back in the old BoB/Goon days. Haven't played in years though.
Oh man. Now that's a game I love to watch the going ons and read about, but never actually play. Far too intimidating.

Though the BoB/Goon days are my favorite stories ^.^
Though I tend to be looking at these events more of a historical event vs as a player, so I've always been a BoB fan ^.^
Though I swear the goonswarm never seem to die

I am not a techno-programmer-geek at all. However, I am a game-geek, a history-geek, and a library-geek. I am happily (and humbly) married to the greatest woman in the world… since 1982. Two grown offspring that make me proud, and two grandchildren that make me giddy. Over the years, I have worn many income-producing hats. Oddest jobs: cricket official before I’d ever played a game of cricket; telephone salesman for a product that I hated; chief chemist for an electro-plating company; and a matchmaker. Presently, I am a preacher, a teacher, a ghost-writer, and a ‘carer’ for my 5 acres of Kansas soil.

@ VillageIdiot. That auto script correcting s/w is pestilential & hasn't done you any favours. Every Village needs a good Pump and I am confident you pump beautifully for the good folk of your village.
Omnipotent Zultar.or Nearly Omniscient Kestas really should have something done to that pestilential script correcting software, mistakenly changing Pump to Pimp, a disgraceful slur imho

I am a Daffy Old Clown now required to embark on a career as a Performing Comedic Artist & thanks to my Political Activism my Fictional character Dusty Balzac Bush Philosopher is currently more famous in Myanmar than in my own country Australia. Tis a common fate of great Artists to be spurned during their lifetimes in their own nations yet beloved in culture loving Nations abroad & purely happenstance that I have that, briefly, in common with the Great Artists.
Your hypothesis is at best partially valid with me, I did dabble with computers and binary & hexdecimal data & it was University fellows who were socially awkward with young ladies with whom I played F2F diplomacy, yet I was rarely socially awkward with young ladies, it tended to be the fathers of young ladies with whom I had difficulties. There's nothing to better boost a Chap's chances of successfully seducing a fellow's rebellious daughter than him telling her she will have nothing to do with that saucy blighter (ie.. you)
It's an obvious proposition, diplomacy is an intellectual pursuit and people who like intellectual pursuits are often cast as nerds and geeks, but that's so simplistic.

Dang bo_sox,

Way to kill a thread man.
Lol I'm flattered, but I promise you it's hardly different from the norm - working remotely gives me time and freedom to travel (and still work), and I use PTO for the crazy stuff just like anyone else. I am stubbornly stuck on the things I'm passionate about and fortunately tech nowadays is pretty accepting of that. Personally I don't think my elevator speech is any more special or worthwhile than anyone else's here and I love seeing the diversity and dedication to a bunch of fun, unexpected passions yall are showing here. Don't let me kill the vibe.
