For the first take over, you can tell by the bet. If it now shows bet: 0, you know it's someone new as opposed to someone rejoining. (side note, is that considered a flaw? I wouldn't think so but..)

Is there a reason this isn't announced in the game thread? I occasionally have so many notices (from live games, for example) that replacement announcements get pushed out of sight before I get back to see them.

You get a notification when someone leaves and when someone else takes over on your home page.

You can re-take a position you left as long as you haven't gotten temp banned for too many unexcused missed turns.

Sometimes a country leaves and is replaced before I notice who went and who arrived. Would it be an idea to say in the automated message which countries have been replaced by a new user?

Also, if a user is kicked from a country, can they re-join or is it safe to say it will always be a new user that takes over?
