28 Feb 09 UTC	so is it about who lost eventually or who just did badly? especially i find the mention of both ww1 and napoleonic wars contradicting. by almost any measure one would have to say that france did well in at least either one of them. the hundred years war was more like a civil war of france, though with one of the sides being quite english. but that side then eventually lost, so... i'm not that familiar with the spanish succession other than that the end result was not what france had sought. and then the french weren't the only ones to lose to the vietnamise communists. i'd say that war and usa's similar try is more proof of a strong vietnamise fighting than weak fighting from the other parties involved.
