22 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 1: Who wants to party in Athens?
22 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1: You guys gotta be kidding - Ive nvr seen such a suss opening in a supposedly anon no private chat game
22 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1: OK not anon - but at least TRY not to act suspicious
22 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1: haha ya rome and Greece just happen to go in complete opp directions
22 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1: And I accidently moved my fleet north. Wish I didn't do that.

And in most games I've played, Persia is Greece's main enemy and Carthage is Rome's
22 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1: If Carthage and Egypt are publicly accusing Rome and Greece of cheating here (and it sure sounds like you are) you are violating rule II. 4 of the site rules. -"All accusations against other players must be made directly to the mod/admin team directly as specified below, in private..." The reason for this is obvious. You can be using such an accusation to rally the other players against us

Technically admin should be made aware of your violation, but let's just let it be, ok? Or if you really think we're cheating, then follow the rules and contact admin in private according to the rule.
22 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1: So Rome, how should we settle the two territories between us? Or should we just leave them empty and decide what to do with them later. At the moment, I plan on sending the entirety of my forces east
22 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1: Actually, I apologize to Carthage. He started after the first move and there sounds like he may be accusing Egypt of being in on the conspiracy against him..

Anyway, folks, just chill and realize that there is no reason, other than us making one variation of logical moves, to suspect anything. If you do think there is something nefarious, as I said, just ask the admin to investigate.

But meanwhile, you do realize you could actually be 'forcing' Greece and I into a self-protective alliance with your barely veiled accusations, don't you? That's another good reason to make accusations to admin in private.
22 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 1: I'd like Vind for the build.. Dal, when you want it, and anything east of that is Greek to me,

You see, you guys have created a self-fulfilling prophesy.
22 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 2: Thats alot of words Rome - methinks thou dost protest too much
22 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 2: Also Egypt - looks liek Persia contrary to the natural order of things is going to have a crack at you given his unit organisation. Given Rome has already stated and his unit organisation is arranged at me - why not ally and go hard against our mutual antagonists?
22 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 2: Persia, what are you doing? Are you just asking for me to wipe you out? You built two fleets to fight Egypt? I'm moving in closer to you and you aren't even trying to stop me
22 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 2: "Cathago delenda est". Cato the Elder had that figured out.
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 2: This persian confuses me so
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 2: None of us are rational or we would be doing something else with our time. LOL
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 2: yes lets leave each other alone and work against our enemies
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 2: and who might our enemies be?
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 2: who ever makes an aggressive move towards me
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 2: Rome has no quarrel with Egypt, Persia, or Greece. Rome is only at war with the warmonger Hannibal.

If the Carthaginians will lay down their arms, send us Hannibal's head, and tithe ten percent their gold and silver each year; we'll simply install a Roman governor and our nations will be at peace.

Pax Romanae vobiscum.

23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 2: OK - you win I surrender
23 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 2: I promise we won't salt your fields this time.
24 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 4: Bye everyone -was short and not so sweet o/
24 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 4: I got Greeked..

Egypt my friend, beware Greeks bearing gifts.
24 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 4: Just survive a big longer Carthage
24 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 4: It's going to take you a long time to finish me off Greece. I play a mean defense, I've been stabbed enough times to learn how to do that.. I knew I should have stabbed you first, but I just don't get much enjoyment out of that. If someone stabs me, I just try to do my best to take them down with me. Egypt and maybe Carthage (if Egypt doesn't gobble him up) will enjoy that.

But it's not too late for you to back off. We shall see, eh?
25 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 4: You didn't get any builds this past year and I got three so I thought now would have been the best time to backstab. Now if I have a powerful ally that continues expanding just as fast as me, I usually don't backstab at all
25 Mar 12 UTC Spring, 4: And good luck Rome
25 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 4: Yeah; Persia, no offense to him/her, didn't do me any favors. LOL

I'm not upset at all with you, it's part of the game, and I wish you luck too. I sometimes wish I was a little more ready to wield the Knife But so it goes, I enjoy the game anyway, And fighting a holding action even when you know it's going to be a defeat is a fun challenge. I just do too much of it. ;-)
25 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 4: Hey folks, the 25th is my 61st birthday. Give an old man a BD present and surrender.
27 Mar 12 UTC Autumn, 5: Way back when Persia built those two fleets and headed south and into the Med was when the game was decided. He left his north wide open for the greedy Greeks. ;-)

I think I could have saved it though if I had moved to DAL when Greece moved to SAR in Fall 3. It would have been chancy but it would have made a big difference.especially if I had left the army I took to NEA up north and fortified NEA with the DAL build. Oh well, live and learn. Good game Greece, you took full advantage of your Persian break.

Oh well, so it goes.
