04 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1905: Hi
04 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1905: hello -

can I ask - why take over a one center country? its a waste of your points and time no?
15 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: I GOT A BUILD! WOO!
15 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: its the small delights in life that matter ;)
15 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1908: Indeed it is. Congratulations to RealityCheque! :-) Also to me, since I stopped procrastinating on some stuff I should have done weeks ago.
16 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1909: i'm still procrastenating on stuff I had to do weeks ago.

I still have a person or two left on my holiday shopping list ;P
17 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Would you guys be interested in a 4-way draw? I think that it woudn't be too difficult to force a stalemate line (from either side). It's not guaranteed yet, but I think there's a decent chance that it'll come to that. We could play it out over the next several days to see, if you like, but it might be prolonging the (not-quite) inevitable.
17 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Actually, it's possible the rest of you could reach a 3-way draw without me. :-) That would require quite a bit of trust from Italy and Turkey, though; I think it would result in an almost-certain German win.
17 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: (As in, I/T would need to trust Germany not to take what would be a well-deserved win.)
17 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Anyway, regardless of outcome, I thought this was a fun game. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

18 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: you know - if I deserved to win this game - I had TWO shots.

one was to bounce Italy out of Por instead of NAf last season... and the other was to go for Mar and cut Pie this season...

EITHER of those would have given me a solid shot at the win.

I still have one last year and one thing I want to try... but beyond that, looks like Italy earned you all a draw ;)
18 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Yeah, Italy really pulled off some good moves for us. Thanks, urallLesbians! Bouncing him out of Por might have been a slightly better option for you, Babak, but there wasn't that much in it either way. I was _really_ surprised you didn't attack Piedmont this turn, though. I thought there was an 80% chance you would either do that, or have Bohemia support Tyr and Gal attack Vienna to cut support.
I guess it's always easy to second-guess in hindsight, though...

There's really nothing you could do tactically to make a difference next year, but if you want to wait, go ahead. I suppose Italy, Turkey and I could start attacking each other, guaranteeing you a win.
18 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: the por move would have destroyed his Gas fleet AND removed his GoL fleet from supportable distance from Mar. in that scenario I would have hit pie 100% and been guaranteed Mar.

but in hindsight - I should not have given up War... I dont know beyond that... nothing particular I can think of.

hey - you guys want to write an EOG for this game on the forum?
18 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1910: Well, if Italy had made the same moves he did, it would have worked, but the other option was to have Mar support Gascony and move GoL to Spain. That would have just bounced all round, including at Pie, and a wasted turn helped us, as that gave Italy time to bring his fleet closer. I agree that with hindsight, it was your best option, but it's one of those things that one couldn't have been sure of at the time.

The EOG statement on the forum is a great idea; let's do it.
18 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1910: I was actually really worried that you would do that, but you didn't so who cares. I could have made moves way back when that would have put me in a better position, but I didn't.
18 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1910: And what do you mean EOG, end of game? I'm gonna guess that we'd discuss the game?
18 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1910: Yeah, we each describe what we thought of the game, what we did/why we did it, mistakes we made or the mistakes of others we exploited, etc.
18 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1910: Ok then.
19 Jan 09 UTC wow... what a way to end the game... with an NMR... lol
