26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: me and another couple of friends are playing a game board.php?gameID=7040&join=on&gamepass=271f6d7981a79fc00e01464f31eec362 we can fill that game up as well if anyone is interested
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: i'll join the other game too if there's room
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: echuta is stuck unless we draw this game and start two new ones. it's kinda lame but what can you do
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: ok, here is what i propose, why don't we continue with the NielsenNow
game (joseph and jared still haven't voted on the draw) and also play this one.
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: any opposition?
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: umm sure... but can your friends still play?
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: we will figure that out. if you want to join you are welcome to.
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: I like the plan. Let's go with it!
26 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: Seth, start a new game with the planned players of this game. We can also finish out this game. I want to have one with the Thanksgiving cabin crowd.
27 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: I think this will work - we just need to give someone the Estunielsen2 login for the other game. Sound fair?
27 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: Hold on...I am getting confused.
27 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: When I get out of class - I will call you and we can discuss.
27 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: I for one am looking forward to the thanksgiving tradition of getting my ass handed to me in diplomacy.
27 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: you always do don't you... ;)
27 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: yes, yes I do...
27 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: We are good to go...
27 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: I don't know if you guys are aware, but I'm playing another game and it looks like the "retreat" phase and the "placement" phase take 72 hours in their own right... so really the fall turn will take like a week and a half by itself. FYI
27 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: haha umm so upon further investigation... never mind. It just lasts until everybody finalizes. Whoops.
29 Nov 08 UTC Spring, 1901: MAN..... i wish the pieces were color coded. This will be confusing when the map gets shaken up.
30 Nov 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: I'm so confident in my placement, I decided not to move. . . lol. For further clarification, does it turn every 3 days regardless, or does the turn end upon finalization from all players?
30 Nov 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: Turns every three day or if everyone finalized first, then the three day clock starts again.
30 Nov 08 UTC Autumn, 1901: I am headed to Bulgaria. Let me know if you have plans.
03 Dec 08 UTC Spring, 1902: Yo, what do the numbers next to our names mean? (95) (7) (33) ? ? ? I can't figure it out.
04 Dec 08 UTC Spring, 1902: those are points you bet on each game you join, it is a way to guage how a good a player is at the game, more points means he has had more succcess in general. we are all just starting so it isn't very indicative of anything yet
11 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Question about rules: If a unit attacks from cntry A to cntry B, and cntry C supports a hold for cntry A, and attack on B is unsuccessful, does C's 'hold support for A' maintain since A did not infact make the move to B? Thanks.
11 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: The sooner this question is answered, the sooner I Finalize.... :)
11 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: I don't believe so... I think if you support a hold for a country that doesn't stay there, it's just an illegal order. Could be wrong though.
11 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Sean we played the way you described on the game board but the rules must be different. I dont think you get to use both moves just in case.
12 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: I don't know if I explained it right, but after the fact, I can describe exactly what I was trying to ask. If I moved Sev - Ukr, and BLA supported a hold on Sev. I was hoping to cover both scenarios: 1) Moscow -Sev & Ukr S Mos - Sev. I was hoping that since Sev couldn't move, the BLA support would indeed be legit, and Sev would stay.
2) If Moscow - Sev (stand-off), Ukr supports Galica hold, then Sev attack on Ukr would void Ukr support of Galicia, and I take Gal.
I was hoping that my original move above would keep both: cancel Ukr support to Galica, AND hold up if Sev couldn't move due to BLA support. Basic question was: can a country attack another, and still fall back on support from another country.
I read the rules, and it said somewhere (latest rules I could find) that support does not count if the country receiving the support 'intends' to move, whether they are succesful or not. So, I had the choice of ensuring GAL by cutting Ukr support with SEV, but risking Sev is MOS & UKR went for SEV.
Did Ukr support Galicia hold? Does it show on a map if support is cut?
12 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: "SEV *if MOS & UKR" not *is
12 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: does that make sense?
12 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: When support is cut, it will show on map - but only when you expand the map by using the green arrow below. In the smaller version of the map that is shown by default, they only show the moves that were in play.
13 Dec 08 UTC Autumn, 1903: Wow...never new that big map was there. Thanks.
26 Dec 08 UTC Spring, 1905: poor eric just can't catch a break...
26 Dec 08 UTC Spring, 1905: but I am having fun.
03 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1906: this is getting rediculous
03 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1906: or is it ridiculous???
03 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1906: either way you get the picture
04 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1906: I'm enjoying this game much more than the other game I'm playing right now...getting my ass kicked... Win some lose some...
12 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1908: Ugly.
24 Jan 09 UTC Spring, 1909: anyone watching what eric is doing? it is annoying but still makes me laugh at the same time.
27 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: yeah we were just talking about that haha. Silly Eric.
27 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: I am depending on the Turkish front to keep me alive.
27 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: wow, germany really got the shaft from eric.
27 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Well I would gladly trade SC for my partner...except he has no SCs to expand on... Huh???
27 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: What is going on with Turkey and England?
27 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Germany got the shaft from Italy not Eric... When is Turkey going to get back into action and kill Italy?
27 Jan 09 UTC Autumn, 1909: Hey now, I hardly gave anyone "the shaft"... I tried to negotiate a peace and got no response.
03 Feb 09 UTC good job kev.
05 Feb 09 UTC well, it would have been a much harder fight if Sean hadn't CD'd, you guys were definitely making us work for it.
