29 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1903: he said there is a difference between Alliance and a truce, DMZ, or NAP.. I agree.. and it deals with honor, even in a game of war..
29 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1903: I don't think there is a difference! It's always stabbing - and that's part of the game. It's called diplomacy because it's up to you to decide how far you can trust someone, no matter what he said!
29 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1903: Since the first edition of Diplomacy back in the 50s the rules specifically state that
players are not bound to anything they say during negotiation. A good player always keeps the possibility of a stab in mind and reacts accordingly. It is a viable tactic to win this game, and if you cant deal with it you should go back to playing Risk or Monopoly or whatever.
29 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1903: This game is entirely about how you use pathos, ethos and logos, in short diplomacy, to manipulate your adversaries. The best players get their enemies to do their dirtywork and then dispose of them. If you let yourself be manipulated to help advance another players cause, deal with it or do it better the next time.

After all this is by no means a military simulation. Its called Diplomacy for a reason.
29 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1903: Thanks!
29 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1903: lol
29 Jun 11 UTC Spring, 1903: lets see how this game pans out- im going to completely remove my armies from scandanavia and mainly europe

germany and russia- feel free to share the spoils whilst i return hom to fight france
30 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1903: thats good
30 Jun 11 UTC Autumn, 1903: Gahhh ... server downtime ... what a drag!
01 Jul 11 UTC Spring, 1904: dear mr turkey- please help yourself yo st peters... im exiting this turn
01 Jul 11 UTC Spring, 1904: dear mr germnay- you may take sweden as well

02 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: Hold on ... hahaha! ... I almost didnt notice you posted in global!

Whooboy.
04 Jul 11 UTC Spring, 1905: I will be gone for 3 days, (7/4/2011-7/7/2011) So is there anyway I can get a pause. It is for family gathering for 4th of July celebration. No way I can get around it.
04 Jul 11 UTC Spring, 1905: Pause for three days it is. I dont mind.
04 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Yap, pause.
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Come on guys, lets pause.
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Would be sad to continue with a missing player...
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Lets wipe out England and pause
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: If I can help anyone against TURKEY just ask I will help
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: after the ally stabbing i got early, im in no mood to be helpful in this game

sorry italy,
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: good luck to all except france

:)
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Ahh so many sore losers. If only there was some way of expressing your emotions in the game. If only you could show all those evil evil backstabbers ... i dont know ... by actually playing better?
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: lol
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: lol
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: im a new guy- havent even finished a game yet....

im going to be crap for a while :)

ill get there eventually

then ill be back to deal with eccoi

hehe
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: That's the spirit. Learn the game, get to know the mechanics, deal with the possibility to get stabbed, and stab some yourself. After that you know your way around. Better than to throw a hissy fit and call each other names. Show us on the battle field!
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: hehe

i will
05 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: So come on guys, we can still pause this. Italy's still got some negotiating power left.
06 Jul 11 UTC Spring, 1906: Thanks guys. Shows just how respectful all of you are..
06 Jul 11 UTC Spring, 1906: Yeah, see my PM.
07 Jul 11 UTC Spring, 1906: True. But not "all of you"... most players paused!
09 Jul 11 UTC Spring, 1907: Ok ... so this is becoming interesting fast.
09 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: the guy playing france doesnt care about any rules of etiquette
09 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: dont trust him,
09 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: he will never do anything for anyone
09 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: *sigh*
10 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: go mr brown!
10 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: lol
11 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Another word, Cockney, and I will quote the neat little ally-stabbing-messages you wrote to me (not realizing that it's me) in the other match... ;)
11 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Whoops. Bringing information outside of the match into it can be considered meta-gaming.
11 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Don't worry... I won't! And I hope Cockney was also content with writing me and no one else...
11 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Pfff ... Italy, seriously? You're making us wait the entire phase for you to destroy the last unit?
11 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: He want's to keep us in suspense... ;)
11 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: come on brown or jones....

:)
15 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1909: Aww man. Sorry dude, but I''ll still go for that win.
15 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1909: eccoi has left?

lol
16 Jul 11 UTC Spring, 1910: Ahh ... my easy win
;)
19 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1911: And one more year ... I could have won already, couldnt I?
20 Jul 11 UTC Autumn, 1911: Ugh ... the waiting is the worst.
