22 Mar 11 UTC Spring, 1902: honestly, I'm just curious why Austria always gets shanked and no one will even work with them. I mean seriously, yeah I have the second worst starting spot, but that doesn't mean Austria needs to be salvaged every game for parts. oh well.
22 Mar 11 UTC Spring, 1902: Well, I personally hate to play as Austria because I know I have a almost certain death. I guess that Austria has that "ghost" and everyone attack it knowing it's an easy target.
23 Mar 11 UTC Spring, 1902: yeah, I suppose so. Just sucks to never even have a chance, but I guess that's just the draw lol. Well good luck to everyone else, but particularly France, England and Germany since you guys all left me alone.
23 Mar 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: I've played a few games as austria and have been fine. It's all about the diplomacy part of the game.
23 Mar 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: I'm not so sure it is. Cause I messaged all 3 of you (being Russia, Italy and Turkey), and two replied and one didn't, both replying peace but acting out first year. is that my bad on diplomacy or simply you guys finding that Austria was an easy early squeeze on the map? cause I definitely tried negotiating lol
23 Mar 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: I found russia's offers more tempting.
23 Mar 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: Oops, I forgot you messaged me.

Honestly? Austria is probably one of the hardest starting positions on the map, it being a natural expansion for Italy, Russia and Turkey, with Germany exercising the option of going south if they want.

That said, I have seen people utterly dominate while playing Austria. Not me, but it's been done. So, in short, to my knowledge it's not your bad in diplomacy (but then of course I still consider myself a scrub at this game).
23 Mar 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: I'm not saying he's a bad diplomat. sometimes you get unlucky. I'm saying is that twice I've gone untouched as austria.
23 Mar 11 UTC Autumn, 1902: I'm not saying that it's impossible to win with Austria, I've seen it done as well. I just see a lot more often that it gets divided and conquered much more quickly and considered salvage land by the main three surrounding it so the diplomacy from Austria gets overlooked first, which I completely understand and do. It's just frustrating when you're on that end is all I'm saying lol
28 Mar 11 UTC Spring, 1905: Oh great, the juggernaut shows it's power...we are all doomed!
28 Mar 11 UTC Spring, 1905: Well, just wait and see. Things are not always as they look.
28 Mar 11 UTC Spring, 1905: Ominous!

That said, I'll never underestimate my capacity to screw up a favorable game.
30 Mar 11 UTC Spring, 1906: And you just watched a full nation panicking! If you ask me to explain my orders, I cannot do it!
31 Mar 11 UTC Autumn, 1906: And now I mistook Liverpool for Wales....
02 Apr 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: Hurry up, Russia, before I'm gone.
02 Apr 11 UTC Autumn, 1907: I draw
02 Apr 11 UTC turkey, you missing, please draw
02 Apr 11 UTC Good game all - playing was a pleasure.
