Only use it to respond to my questions in the minimal form possible. Having any other chat risks unbalancing your gunboat game.
Is everyone OK with returning this game as 25hr phases, or do you have a time you'd like to restart it at 5min phases?
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: okay for me , thx figlesquidge !
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: 25 hour phases is fine with me too. Although, if everyone would want to continue playing the same time tonight, ie 12am GMT, I would be happy to do that. Or indeed, another time that is more agreeable to everyone if there is one.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: I prefere some earlier than because at 12 am GMT i probably will be sleeping . But if some of the others won't be playing anymore it might be better that mods unpause it and give it a longer time /phase .
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: I agree. I am totally happy with a 25 hour time phase. Would there be any time today that you could resume 5-minute play? It won't take that long, as we're half-way through the game.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: I could play at 10 or 11 pm , my time ( GMT+1 ) , so that will make 9 or 10 GMT ........ ....., but what about the others , without them not playing or unpausing we can't move on
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Well, if they don't respond to us at all regarding a time to reconvene this game then they should be automatically eliminated and this be autotically drawn between the 2 of us.
It is totally unfair and ungamesmanlike for them not to respond, especially to the offer of a 25 hour phase, which would be within everyone's capability.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: I originally rejoined and unpaused and waited. I think the ship has now long since sailed on a Friday evening 5min\phase game so it should now simply end as it stands. Let's start another one!
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: (figlesquidge): It is totally unreasonable of you two to assume people who were around at 11 last night (GMT) would be online during the European day. It is quite probable they are from the Americas and as such won't have been on the site yet
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: figlesquidge, that is absolutely correct. I didn't think of that and apologise if I offended anyone.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: France, why wouldn't you want to go to a 25 hour phase?
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: If people object to restarting, I would be happy to cancel the game. A draw is unacceptable.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: It's not the same. If draw is unacceptable (curious) then Cancel it is then.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: I said before that a 25h/turn would be the best so that everyone can make his moves on time , it is not necessary to do it in 5 min . Sure there are people from the other side of the world and they must have a chance to play this game to the finish , they only may not hold on the game by not unpausing !
@ France : i do not understand your ask to draw or to cancel . This game was played proper till the bug , and can be finished proper if everyone wants to play it with the adjustments of 25h/turn . Asking a draw or a cancel doesn't seem very fair !
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: @ admin , just make it a 25h/turn please , it's the only proper way i think
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Agreed.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Thx , England .I' ll unpause when mods make it 25h , i only would ask the other players to rejoin the game even if you think you are in a lost position . It was pleasant till all things went wrong with the side .
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Could not access the site at all last night, only just reconnected this afternoon. Naturally in my board position I would be more than happy with a draw or cancel, but as a Diplomacy player making the game into 24/hour phases is much more fair. I don't quite know how the voting works in this situation, so I will just mark "Cancel" and be content with what the mods decide.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Thank you for replying Austria. So, as it stands, 3 of the 6 countries involved have agreed to a 25 hour phase:

Please can France, Italy and Germany confirm to this? (Although, I feel, as Germany is out of the game and has already hit unpause, he is accepting that he is no more part to play - which he doesn't - and we would not need to wait for him to comment on this. Does that sound reasonable?)
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: It seems the game should only need to wait for Italy and France at this point, seeing as Russia and Germany have each been eliminated.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Italy is online as he has just changed his vote to cancel. Italy, please can you respond to this message board and, at least, confirm with a yes or no whether you would agree to a 25 hour phase?
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Italy please respond to us.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Please respect that England and Turkey have done well in this game and that it is fair for us to want to continue. I am sure you would write on this message board and want to do the same if you were in a good position.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: @france, italy and austria : it's not fair to use this site-malfunction to block this game !
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Note my previous response Turkey.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Austria has confirmed to 25 hour phases. It is just France and Italy. Italy has just visited the game but not bothered to respond.
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: Thx austria , but voting for cancel let me assume that you don't want to finish . Don't know how things are working here , but i see a majority for cancel . And i don't agree with that . Let mods make 25h/ phase and i would ask everyone in this game to agree with this point of view and to restart !
22 Jan 11 UTC Autumn, 1908: But of course I don't want to finish, look at my positioning! I would much rather see the game canceled, but out of a sense of fairness I agree the game should be continued in the manner specifically described above.
