Spring, 1904: god my austria still needs a lot of work
Autumn, 1904: Conceding Germany entirely in A02 was, I think, fatal, if you go Vie-Boh you have to make a play on Munich or at least set yourself up for Berlin, otherwise you're just way too behind. What was the rationale of Mos-War rather than going to Stp? |
|
Spring, 1905: I was betting that you knew my habit to go to StP early, and that you would break your habit of always sending NTH to DEN in 1902, thus mis-positioning it in NWY.
Spring, 1905: I think my biggest issue is understanding how to context Germany...probably because the bot doesn't focus on it XD
Spring, 1905: *contest Germany as Austria
Spring, 1905: I didn't send BOH to SIL because I was worried about you being tricky and going to TYR instead of VEN. But realistically, if I'm making that bet, then I shouldn't be covering VEN at all, because that's hedging which is bad.
Spring, 1905: And since I wasn't sending BOH to SIL, that also factored into pulling MOS back to WAR, which was intended to help contest BER in 1903.
Spring, 1905: Yeah, you have to take some risks in this variant, hedging works just fine when you're in winning position or playing a less good player who's bound to make a strategic error down the line, but against people who see all the possibilities you pretty much have to take a chance on one. I always go to Denmark, even if Austria goes to Stp early, always Denmark, F Nwy is no good because Austria can (and should imo) always just order Stp-Fin and the fleet either gets stranded in Stp nc or has to retreat to Sweden anyway, which it could just have done after picking up Denmark, or better yet go to Baltic and support/convoy up an army into Sweden. |

Makes sense. This is game right? StP is lost long-term?
