Spring, 1901: Good luck, Yorkshire Puddings, from your oldest and coldest former colony!
Autumn, 1901: Tally ho!
Spring, 1903: MISCLICK!!! I accidentally built A(Tri) instead of A(Bud). I hope this isn't fatal.
Spring, 1903: Rather A(Tri) instead of A(Vie).
Spring, 1903: Ouch =/ Yeah, we were discussing that and were a little confused
Spring, 1903: Did you want to take two phases here to fix it? I'm happy to hold all as long as you only move Tri-Vie and then H.
Spring, 1903: (would also need to get confirmation from Goldie that he's good to enforce an honour rule on that :D )
Spring, 1903: Thank you so very much for that offer, very honourable. Would you mind? Yes I undertake on Canada's honour that for the next phase I will move Tri>Vie, then for the Autumn, we will hold all, then for next Spring we will resume normal operations.
Spring, 1903: OK, I have ordered Tri>Vie and all else hold. If you are still willing to hold all, just confirm you orders. If you want to discuss further, please DON'T confirm orders, or you'll have a huge advantage over my paralyzed forces. Again, thank you. This is very sporting of you. |

Spring, 1903: Moderator: (goldfinger0303): Very sporting. Carry on as you wish
Autumn, 1903: Got all holds in again; we ride at Spring!
Spring, 1904: OK, thank you for the truce to go out and pick up my dead. Hostilities may commence again immediately. Thank you.
Autumn, 1904: Moderator: (goldfinger0303): Hi all, I will be pausing and gunboating this game now for our holiday pause. I hope everyone has a happy and healthy holidays, and see you on the 1st.
Autumn, 1904: Welcome back. Happy New Year.
Spring, 1905: Howdy! Sorry about almost missing the phase there, hadn't gotten back into the habit of entering orders again yet. Just done so.
Spring, 1905: No problem. We're up and running now, I think.
Autumn, 1907: I'm going to consult with my team, but I may resign before the end of this turn.
Autumn, 1907: My team decided to fight on.
Autumn, 1907: My team decided to fight on.
Autumn, 1907: All good! :)
Its time to pull the plug. Great game, France, I feel humbled. Also, kudos again for the sportsmanship earlier in giving me a chance to recover from my misclick. Good luck with the rest of the tournament. |
|
Well played! It was a fun one. You were at a bit of a disadvantage after the opening - Alpine v Italian is pretty heavily France-sided - but I think you nearly got the recovery in '04. S06 feels like the moment where you lost, with the lost guess on Apu and the backing out of Kie instead of trying to guess to save it (I think guessing to save would probably have been better there). Good luck in the future ones! |
|
Thanks for the tips, especially about moving out of Kie. That's usually my MO - if I'm outnumbered, I don't wait to be defeated, I usually find something better for that unit to do. I'll think hard next time that decision comes up.
I think usually it would be correct! Not getting a unit blown up can definitely be important, especially if it establishes a line. But here you were hard pressed to try to get to 18 anyway so the center mattered more than the unit did (imo, at least). |
