14 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1908: I'd like to thank the academy for this best Supporting Actor Oscar, and say I couldn't have done it without Russia incompetently stabbing Turkey.
14 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1908: ^^
14 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1908: do you want to make it worth lightly less of a bet Germany? I'm already down 40 for today :P
14 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1908: i disagree you couldnt of done it without italy stabbing austria rather then going for france
14 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1908: I'll gladly take my award for "Best Bad Guy Turned Good Guy"
14 Jun 10 UTC http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=31386 cheaper one
14 Jun 10 UTC Germany, it was never a stab, the alliance was made in the first turn. I overlooked the detail that Turkey can't be allied with Italy and Russia :P
14 Jun 10 UTC broken link^^
14 Jun 10 UTC true wasnt a stab but ita aus and germ are kinda auto allied for the first couple of turns for some reason
14 Jun 10 UTC stupid copy paste

14 Jun 10 UTC Italy's got a choice in this kind of game. Shaft AH, get in on the juggernaut, and get wiped out by Turkey, or go after France, and get wiped out by France and AH needing SCs to keep armies in the field. It's really not a pleasant position.
14 Jun 10 UTC gg
14 Jun 10 UTC good game, everybody
14 Jun 10 UTC by the time I had realized what was happening, I was already dead :P I should not have cooperated with France though, that was a mistake.
14 Jun 10 UTC That "some reason" is because they're corridor powers. One expanding into another does nothing to secure yourself. Diplomacy is all about acquiring and maintaining a corner of influence, then pushing to another corner and then Zerg rushing across the middle. Here, France secured his northwest corner via alliance and started pushing toward the middle while securing his southwest corner via warfare.

To show a failing example, Turkey started with a corner but has to break out of it before he can go for his other corner (Russia). In this case, I hadn't broken out before I was attacked by that corner.
14 Jun 10 UTC Good game, all.
14 Jun 10 UTC YES TURNED A PROFIT
14 Jun 10 UTC You're right, Eden. And I hope my performance throughout the game demonstrated a little bit of tactical and diplomatic ability.
14 Jun 10 UTC i was france ha ha
