07 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1906: If we unpause games are processing now.
07 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1906: Everyone vote to unpause.
07 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1906: Done
07 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1906: voted unpause
07 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1906: Done
10 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: I will be drinking heavily tonight during a Prime Video watch party with friends over Zoom. The designated picker, not me, has decided it is a Clint Eastwood night. The double feature will be "Unforgiven" followed by "Dirty Harry."

My press beginning in about five hours from now until the end of this phase will either be me drunk, tired, or hungover while I mow my lawn tomorrow. Apologies in advance.
10 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: No problems. All you achieved here was to let russia win.
10 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Ohh. That's a real zinger
10 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: France, you stabbed England and the Western Triple. England had Russia contained in Scandinavia before you did that. The THREE of us WOULD have dominated if you hadn't.

I can't say I'll miss you.
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: I never agreed to the western triple moron.
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: All you did was let russia win. Duh.......
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Me: 20 Jun 2020 Spring, 1902: I'm wondering if we shouldn't activate a Western Triple to eliminate The Juggernaut.

You: 20 Jun 2020 Spring, 1902: Not a bad idea.
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Now, please lawyer that with, "But I didn't AAAGGGREEEEEEEEE."

In any event, farewell!
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Survived is better than eliminated. You should have taken the deal we offered you. It was more than you deserved.

And stop calling people derogatory names. It's a flipping game. You really care THAT much?
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Not at all. But I have no respect for people that don’t even try to win.
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Oh that wb you and England btw, losers
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Sure...WE are the losers...because we didn't fall...for your LAME attempt...to comeback...and SCREW us over...a SECOND time.

You're so freaking cool though France... you're the BEST player ever. Your elimination must be an...what's the word...anomaly. You are MUCH better player than your impending elimination indicates.

Much...better...player...than everyone...if it makes you feel better.

BTW, I'm drunk right now... What's YOUR excuse? HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Go play another game now, Mr. Irrelevant.
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: France: you agreed to work with England in 1902, including a DMZ in the Channel. And broke the agreement in 1903.
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Damn, I feel like an idiot for ever worrying about that WT

Go Russia!
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Germany’s eloquent persuasive skills on great display here, baffling how other players managed not to be convinced. Probably their fault, I guess.
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: You guys are ironic. (That's not typo. I meant ironic.)
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
11 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Classy
13 Jul 20 UTC I never understood the psychology of collaborators. Are they emotional, like a spurned lover on a soap opera? Are they trying to express their righteous indignation to others they feel wronged them? Are they aware this is a merely a game on the internet that they play with strangers who don't really care?

Since it appears we now have two, I'll just point out the following: I move Kiel to Holland, and the game is over. My decision. Nothing else matters on the board. No moral victories to be had.

My apologies to England, who was a great sport considering his circumstances. I'm sorry we didn't team up to quickly eliminate France from the start.

Unless Russia wants to voluntarily leave my territory by going East. That's his decision. If he cares about your moral victories, which he doesn't because this is merely a game on the internet played by strangers.

GG Russia. Best press I've ever seen.
13 Jul 20 UTC "Two collaborators" lol I assume you mean me...

Year after year, I warned you that Russia would win the game, and you ignored me, only to end the game by whining like this?

Russia's press isnt "the best I have ever seen" (good but not godly, no offense Russia). Don't act like you lost a futile battle against Goliath, Germany. You lost a battle against your own idiot mistakes, as did we all.
13 Jul 20 UTC I got France eliminated. I'm happy.

As for your Austria, since you never took any of my advice, asked for my move set without revealing yours, I just figured you weren't trustworthy and didn't want to work with you.
13 Jul 20 UTC Why would anyone consider Austria trustworthy? Or France?

That’s the downside to stabbing early and often: no one wants to work with you even if their survival depends on it. Because it’s a lose-lose proposition and some prefer to lose with honour.
13 Jul 20 UTC I don't prefer to lose, but to turn my back on Monsieur Stabby only for the Frog to stab and eliminate me later anyway is a worse fate than this game.

This game is actually pretty damn good alternate history though. If George V actually got along with Wilhelm II, and America stayed neutral, the map would have probably looked like this. Schlieffen Plan still fails though.
13 Jul 20 UTC You know what, everyone? A Russian solo is not a fait accompli: between the four of us we have 18 SC's to Russia's 15, a numerical advantage. With a little coordination, we can still carry the day.
13 Jul 20 UTC At one point, Germany, you're going to have to start thinking about *why* you failed to convince so many others. It's clear you haven't come across well to others. Russia hasn't needed to do anything special to win, your press and diplomacy has enabled him far more than I have.
13 Jul 20 UTC That would be a truly impressive feat and a massive stumble on my part. I do hope the solo materializes but I want to thank you all now as this game has been a lot of fun. I have been impressed by the responsiveness and quality of press from everyone since the start of the game and this has been one of the better games I think I’ve played in I’m terms of the overall quality of press from everyone.
13 Jul 20 UTC I would agree and say similar nice things, but I died first and so feel compelled to complain about everyone and then I'll blame Austria for my situation.
13 Jul 20 UTC At least Syria still flies the Turkish flag!
13 Jul 20 UTC Italy, you posture like I campaigned and failed. You sound like a jilted lover. You're the failure of the game.

Russia: Has good press. Knew he was The Terminator after his successful stab of Turkey and France's unsuccessful stab of England. I never campaigned for him to do anything except friendly builds and moves before that. Guess what? I succeeded there.

England: Good press here too. We worked well together. I wouldn't say I campaigned him or he me, but we collaborated well. Success there.

France: Good press until the backstab. England and I made the strategic decision to eliminate him at all costs. I didn't campaign him until he pleaded publicly for unity. I offered terms, and he called England a moron.

Austria: Good press until he lost hope. Stabbed you a lot, but that was your problem to deal with. Didn't really listen to me anyway. I'm guessing he didn't really listen to anyone; he never had a long-term alliance.

Turkey: Friendly enough, but I didn't campaign him until towards the end when I suggested Austria was a better ally than you because Austria might be able to help get his home centers back. Success, he flipped.

You: well... You were a *** from the start.
13 Jul 20 UTC If a player chooses to go batshit crazy, ignore the fundamentals of the game based on a personal vendetta, refusing to listen to reason, there's no point dealing with him.

I told you this weeks ago in private press. I'll tell you again publicly: Go to the strategy board, post this game, and ask where the failure to contain Russia lies.

"Germany didn't help Italy," isn't going to be the top reason. It won't be in the top 3. It very possibly wouldn't show up on the list at all.
13 Jul 20 UTC Thank christ for that. If I had to hear your pathetic bleatings about being a 'hired gun' one more time, I think it would have driven me over the edge...
13 Jul 20 UTC We agree on one thing, we'll be glad to not have to deal with each other anymore. However, we'll disagree on who's happier, I suspect.

Could we all enter and ready orders now? Who wants to drag this out?
13 Jul 20 UTC P.S. Hired gun!
13 Jul 20 UTC I'm sorry, Germany, but Russia's solo remains squarely your fault, and everybody here knows it. I offered you assistance several times during this game - you ignored it every time, which is absolutely your right, but at no point in the game did you even *suggest* any course of action to me.

Austria spoke to me continuously (at least to begin with) and we came to several detailed arrangements - He promptly ignored each one of them in turn and continued stabbing me, which certainly pissed me off, but at least he has the good grace to own his mistakes. Your dealing with me, on the other hand, consists of an early stab, 10 turns of totally ignoring my messaging, and then suddenly announcing that Russia was about to win, as if it were some sort of newsflash, as if France, Austria and I hadn't been telling you the same thing for literally weeks. None of this ever followed up by any actual proposal of what to do. I mean, literally - at no point in the *entire game* did you ever propose to me a single move coordination. What was this 'reason' of yours that I'm supposed to have refused to listen to?

It's nice of you to take the trouble to 'rate the players'. I'm sure they're basking in the sunshine of the praise you have deigned to bestow upon them. I was particularly amused by your proudly boasting that you convinced Turkey to attack me late in the game, as if this was somehow a smart strategic move on your part, as opposed to yet more evidence of your deliberate sabotage of any possibility of a coherent resistance to Russia ever being formed...
13 Jul 20 UTC I'm offended by the suggestion that I was convinced to attack anyone by Germany. I don't recall that conversation at all.
13 Jul 20 UTC If it helps matters I would say that I am solely to blame for Russia's success. I gambled on Russia wanting to stick with me for a while and I overextended myself and left my homeland exposed to his armies. If I had been a less trusting or more cautious player this game I don't think we would be having this conversation.
13 Jul 20 UTC Also, after reading Germany's description of me I feel like Arthur Dent after finding the entry on Earth, 'Mostly harmless'.

Feels bad man!
13 Jul 20 UTC No offense Turkey.

And Italy, we didn't talk to one another for a few moves. You weren't knocking on my door, and I wasn't knocking on yours.

Keep believing France though on all things.
13 Jul 20 UTC Why don’t we save the post-game analysis for the end? Russia is not forcing us to turn on each other, but only enjoying the scene.
14 Jul 20 UTC good game to all
14 Jul 20 UTC That was the most spirited game I've played! I'll be remembering this one.
14 Jul 20 UTC Good game all. First press game I’ve played in a long time so thanks for taking it easy on me!
14 Jul 20 UTC Good game everyone! Congratulations, Russia: good press and good tactical playing. Thanks to Germany for sticking with me even after Russia and France stabbed; most players would have just taken what they could.
14 Jul 20 UTC Thanks all. Italy never got anywhere further than Vienna (briefly) in the end, but you wouldn't have thought so from the intensity of play throughout.
14 Jul 20 UTC Congrats Russia. Good game everyone!
