17 Jul 20 UTC I was surprised to notice everyone else had voted draw! I would have liked to have eliminated England (because they antagonized me all game) or France/Spain (just for the points), but figure I was about to become a universal target, especially based on my Italian shenanigans.
17 Jul 20 UTC Sorry about that Germany, France managed to befriend me early on by helping me into Belgium. I figured that we would be tag-teaming you so I focused entirely on the north. France didn't really help against you though, picking fights with Italy and Spain instead, but I was already committed. I was making good progress for a while but eventually I stalled out, and once Spain and Egypt started harassing me I knew it wasn't sustainable.

I tried to make peace with you by support holding you and voting draw, but you weren't really having it, which I can't blame you for after I attacked you for years on end. Glad we drew when we did though, I probably would have been eliminated sooner or later if anyone really wanted to force the issue.
17 Jul 20 UTC Ah damn it. Wish i had withdrwan the draw vote after @Germany moved on @Italy. That was exaclty what i was waiting for.

@Italy sorry for the early stab, Our early alliance was very productive and that move was probably y a mistake and genuinly well done on out-smarting most of my moves.
@Spain i was so releived when you backed away from me. Thank god for that
17 Jul 20 UTC @Italy on a scale of 1-10 how angry were you with me for my move to greece in spring 2001. I would have been absolutely fuming at that point.
17 Jul 20 UTC Ahh bummer Egypt
18 Jul 20 UTC Oh why, i just go my interesting visit to London. Well played everyone
18 Jul 20 UTC Gg everyone, didn't think I'd be in the draw when I took over. Thought for sure I'd get pinched.
18 Jul 20 UTC Hey guys, nice game. Had no hard feelings against you Egypt. I was a bit surprised you stabbed me when you did, as I thought your gains would be limited against me, & I thought I would've still been of use to you as an ally bearing the brunt of aggression from France, Spain, & the Ukraine. I was more annoyed by France. ;-) He took Milan from me early, and I didn't see the longer term benefits for him, making an enemy of me with few roads to gaining more Italian centers. I was also surprised Spain attacked me as well when he did. So, certainly no hard feelings. ;-) I felt lucky to make the draw, given how many enemies I had. What helped me survive was Ukraine giving up territory to me as he perished, and of course Germany's goodwill, which was cemented by British successes in the north that he needed all of his resources to battle. Anyways, great game fellas. Have a great weekend.
