Good game everyone! | |
Congrats England! | |
Yep, great game to England, good win!
GG and thanks! I was worried that I'd be giving up the solo by backing off of Russia in 1907, but I figured that the eastern side of the board was divided enough that I might get War/Mos later, and France looked like they were turning around to fight me. (Was I wrong about that, France?) In general it seems like some players weren't interested in forming alliances, even though it's certainly possible in gunboat. The only ones I saw were E/F and R/T in the early game, and maybe E/R in the midgame (not quite an alliance, but we were on the same page). It was certainly a boon to me that no one was interested in uniting to prevent the solo. |

It was disheartening when it was clear I was going to be run over, squabbling was still taking place in the balkins and middle Europe. I was also surprised a halt to the pettiness did not occur. You certainly took advantage well England and earned the win!
Yeah, I tried to make an alliance with Russia early game and was planning for it to hold but the opportunity came and I really couldn't pass it up - and italy and austria were fighting so could be pretty safe about it. (Sorry russia!!) It was definitely helpful to you england for that. Also france, I thought you were gonna be my ally and turn on italy! but then ah, you retreated suddenly and that was where my end began. But yeah, england totally deserved it. Good job everyone though! |

I had a moment in 1904 where I could blitz germany and hope England would keep attacking Germnay and leave me alone, or be much more defensive. I went back and forth on what to do and then I chose the more aggressive option. England pounced perfectly. I was looking for opportunities to take st petersburg back after but you always had a second defender. Good game turkey, you just ran out of time. |
