Spring, 1907: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Spring, 1907: Well, since France is in civil disorder, it's only fair that we all call it a draw now. Right?
Spring, 1907: I think that is the rule.
Spring, 1907: I think Turkey wins.
Spring, 1907: I think the moral victory surely goes to Germany?
Spring, 1907: Here here!
Spring, 1907: 'Hear hear', surely?
Spring, 1907: Um... damn autocorrect?
Spring, 1907: Why do I keep getting away with this? I thought there were no excused missed turns
Spring, 1907: HAHAHA! | |
Spring, 1907: Lol | |
Autumn, 1907: Autumn 1907: France - 'Oops, I did it again.'
Autumn, 1907: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Autumn, 1907: Oh dear! | |
Autumn, 1907: Well, since Italy is in civil disorder, it's only fair that we all call it a draw now. Right?
Autumn, 1907: Sorry - I've just finished a 20 hour shift at work - I kid you not - absolutely shattered, running constantly with barely a break for tea or even a piss, let alone Diplomacy. I'm sorry for the delay. Orders submitted now.
Autumn, 1907: No worries Italy, real life intrudes on us all from time to time. Take care, get some rest.
Autumn, 1907: Phew - not me this time...
Autumn, 1907: lol - France
Autumn, 1907: It's a draw so.
Autumn, 1907: It is not a draw at all.
Autumn, 1907: I voted draw.. oh well, once more into the fray!
Autumn, 1907: I voted draw too. It's been clutching at straws time in Turkey for several years now. Could everyone submit their builds around 6pm? Much better time than 2am |
|
Autumn, 1907: I also voted draw. I think we're waiting on Austria. Although it'd be interesting to see if England can clean up
Autumn, 1907: I was joking about the draw - clearly it's England for the solo - 'they think it's all over - it is now.' |
|
Spring, 1908: I don't know. Italy takes Mar, Austria takes War, England takes Ber and Mos, and I think it's stalemate after that. (Though Austria might take Sev and Ank before agreeing to a draw.) |
|
I feel like your fleet might be better used backing up Italy against England. Anyways, what's the plan this turn? |
|
Whoops! | |
LOL! | |
Oh no, now everyone knows I'm trying to persuade people to draw!
:D | |
At least I got to have coffee and cake in Berlin. https://twitter.com/pitchblacksteed/status/1221518543256215559 |
|
Well, seeing as everyone wanted a draw..
New game please! | |
Well played Lucy. You would have won if the game hadn't paused for missed turns and instead put people in civil disorder. I'd also like to congratulate Italy and Austria on their alliance. That Lepanto basically ended the game for me |
|
Yes that was completely unshakable! Although no have a feeling it might have ended once Austria had knocked me back a bit
Aaagh - not completing that Lepanto was the worst missed opportunity ever! Somehow Turkey talked me and Italy out of it. And fair-play to Lucy - only one army in Gas short of a win there. |
|
I don't think I've ever done so much talking for so little advancement in a game before. Getting a draw out of this has got to be one of my finest Diplomacy moments ever.
If it hadn't been you, and if Russia hadn't been so unpleasant, I'd have killed you off. But I was delighted at how cross you were when I took Con. |
|
How was Russia unpleasant?
My first game in about 5 years. I really enjoyed it. We started with the idea of a central powers triple alliance in 1901 and got off to a flying start. I've wanted to paly the Blue Water Lepanto for yearsand was delighted to cooperate with Austria to do so. Turkey obviously spoke very convincingly with Austria, because he failed to follow through. Very disappointing!! I then failed to stab Austria, but managed to kiss and make up when first Russia and then England looked like they could win. The ridiculous lengths I went to in my prolonged and ineffectual stab at Austria makes an amusing story, but would be too complex and lengthy to repeat here - Austria knows what Im talking about! Russia was a real contender there for ages, I felt, and had a massive fall from grace - that must have hurt! England played very well indeed, I thought - your timing of the stab against me to allow France into Spain was perfect - well played! Thanks to everyone. Steve |
|
RU-Ca-ca-ca-ca-cah! | |
Previous comment now making even less sense! Thanks Steve, it was a great game. I think I stabbed everyone, some people twice, so I'm not sure how I got away with that one, apart from Geography helping me out.
Russia, I mean this in the spirit of answering your question, not point-scoring, score-settling, or anything else, but at least three players found your attitude high-handed, condescending, dismissive, or what have you. I won't labour the point, but when you think you're right and everyone else thinks you're wrong, maybe a little self-reflection might be in order.
A functioning Italy-Austria alliance is a thing of beauty. I was really rooting for ye. What happened to Germany? The dangers of expanding too quickly? |
|
Thanks, Turkey. | |
Let me guess: Italy and Austria?
Austria, I'm amazed you didn't kill me off. I was wracking my brain for ways to appear useful. If the roles had been reversed, I'd have snuffed you in an instant. I think Russia being necessary for the stalemate might have saved me.
New game, new game, new game!
I don’t know, the central powers triple alliance thing went well to start with. England was my downfall, I think. I never really did anything after 1901 and it was all downhill from there. |
