08 May 20 UTC I played poorly at the end. The Spain/Marseilles/Med battle is always hard for me
08 May 20 UTC Well done Italy
08 May 20 UTC Well done everybody!
08 May 20 UTC GG everyone! Well played!
08 May 20 UTC It’s interesting... in a normal game, there’s no way I could have won, but because France and Germany weren’t able to coordinate their moves, I was eventually able to break through.
08 May 20 UTC Also, Germany! That was ballsy, leaving Munich open like that on the final turn. You thoroughly out-predicted me on those final two rounds.
08 May 20 UTC And you suddenly going on the offensive in Spring 1912 nearly ruined my whole plan
08 May 20 UTC I think Germany did a decent job coordinating, even if he did start taking some of my centers. The issue was that I kept getting disbands in Spain. I just always have trouble navigating that section in the late game.
08 May 20 UTC France and Russia have no idea how to play an end game.

France => NEVER give up MAO, never. You let him walk into MAO, so you could take Belgium. Belgium is worthless in stopping an Italian solo. Trust me. Your troubles began the instant you gave up MAO. And I KNEW, totally KNEW, he would go to MAO, of course.

Also, this last turn, ANYTHING you did, except move to Portugal would have saved us. I am looking at the move just before, thinking to myself, whatever you do DON'T GO TO PORTUGAL. And of course, you went to Portugal. The correct move was MAO to Spain supported by Gascony, let him go to Portugal, and if he doesn't you retreat there, as I dislodge you.

France, I had to take some centers to get enough armies over to the east to support the Russian defense, there was no other choice.

and RUSSIA. Fleet Black is totally worthless, army Moscow just lets me support all hold, instead all that inspired guessing you forced me to do. You kept Black sea alive twice, so dumb...
08 May 20 UTC if you think keeping black Sea alive to harass him hurts him, you're wrong, it he;ed him immensely.
08 May 20 UTC helped him.
08 May 20 UTC GG I really struggled this game.
08 May 20 UTC Yeah, I shouldn't have let him into MAO, looking back that was definitely where it started to come apart. At that point I was still focused on dealing with you so I wasn't thinking about an Italian solo.

I think I'm usually pretty good with the endgame scenarios, just in Iberia is where I have a really tough time. I'm solid pretty much everywhere else on the board. Thanks for the tips, I'm going to back to this game more to learn from my mistakes.
08 May 20 UTC also, 1914 you could have recovered. Just after I skillfully bounced him out of Marseilles for you, and you could have destroyed his fleet in Portugal, by going Marseilles to GOL, Tunis - West med, Gascony to Spain, Spain to Portugal supported by MAO. but no... instead of a totally 100% way of destroying him in Portugal,, he destroys you in Spain.. and why go to NAF? Tunis and NAF are worthless just like Black Sea to Russia.
08 May 20 UTC I was thinking there was a chance he would cut support from MAO with Western Med, but clearly not. And I was concerned he would take Marseilles if I moved it. So I tried to get myself in a position to get Western Med from him...but it didn't work very well. I guess I'm just not great at the predictions around Iberia.
08 May 20 UTC also, France, you kept fighting for /all/ three of the SC, you only needed one of them, not all of them. I had Moscow and Warsaw covered. So starting with fall of 1913, when you were back into MAO finally, from there, support all hold. Keep MAO and Marseilles, give up Spain and Portugal, so what?

Look at spring of 1914. support all hold.
Fall of 1914, support all hold.
spring 1915, support all hold.
fall of 1915, same thing, just support all hold.
spring 1916... same thing.

Fall 1916, you lost Marseilles, because you were fighting for Tunis and NAF and all of the SC, when you could have just let him keep Portugal and Spain, and sat there, support hold and yawn, draw.
08 May 20 UTC and if idiotic Russia had just kept his army in Moscow, I would have never had to risk Bohemia, and it's a stalemate line, just give him Portugal and Spain, hold MAO and Marseilles. He could not have done shit.
08 May 20 UTC even with Russian poor play, I was eventually able to stabilize that front as well.
08 May 20 UTC GG Italy. Was never able to fully recover from the first missed bounce for a lepanto in 02.
15 May 20 UTC Sorry to resurrect a dead game, but I was thinking back to this game and I have to ask: Tugster, how did you know to go on the offensive in Spring 1912?
15 May 20 UTC It was based on my predictions of Francis moves. France was pretty predictable overall, I was pretty sure you would hold them place which would allow me to at least pester tyrolia with backup support while i convoyed to England to get the supply centers I needed. I didn't actually expect to enter tyrolia.
