Autumn, 1910: Haha thanks England and Germany, at this point I have put a lot of trust into Turkey so I hope he continues our conquest. Turkey, I probably shouldn't have moved out of Tyrr, but move your fleet to Tyrr and we can convoy Greece over to Spain. Otherwise feel free to move Gal into Silesia and you can follow into Germany with some units (may as well do something...). France, keep strong and let me know if you need units supporting or doing anything. I can try to help you get Spain back, but holding onto Brest is seeming quite unlikely |
|
Autumn, 1910: @Germany either support one of those or take Paris, but don't tell me or anyone else which you plan to do, best to keep the French guessing.
Autumn, 1910: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Autumn, 1910: Oof, someone missed the deadline.
Autumn, 1910: Wasn’t me ;)
Autumn, 1910: That was me, sorry about that folks
Autumn, 1910: Real life has been turbulent what with everything going on
Autumn, 1910: Italy I'll move into Silesia and Tyrrhenian Sea
Autumn, 1910: Apologies England, should have confirmed your support hold order was coming. Thank you anyway, and cheers for the game all. Good luck Northerners!
Autumn, 1910: I have a feeling that this may end up as a 4-way draw, in which case it will have been a very close game.
Spring, 1911: @Germany, care for some support into Paris?
Spring, 1911: Italy, I'll support Munich into Berlin if that's ok (that way it's not possible for any support to be cut)
Spring, 1911: Also, very well fought, Russia. It was a pleasure playing with you!
Spring, 1911: Farewell Russia
Spring, 1911: @Germany, please move Denmark to Sweden if you can, otherwise I may wind up having to convoy Turkey to York in accordance with my press in Spring 1908 and that would just be an embarrassing way to go.
Spring, 1911: @England yes, some support into Paris would be nice. I'll also definitely be moving into Sweden to stop Turkey moving on. @Turkey are you sure that you don't want to go for Berlin? That'll be one more step on your way to a solo… |
|
Spring, 1911: Well played Russia, good game! Good call with the support from Munich Turkey, that way we will take Berlin without any issues. Let's also convoy Greece to Spain with support from France and GoL? It seems you now have a hole up north so good to see you aren't bored over in the East |
|
Spring, 1911: Sounds good Italy, I will send Greece over
Spring, 1911: England that will mean that the attack on Spain will have three units against two… it is Spring, but maybe I should redirect Gascony? Or you could use the opportunity to move into North Africa and another fleet down into MAO.
Spring, 1911: It is fine for now, stick to the plan, take Paris.
Spring, 1911: Will do. | |
Spring, 1911: Germany, nice play, forgot you could block it by moving your army the opposite way
Autumn, 1911: Support hold each other in Scandinavia?
Autumn, 1911: Thanks Italy, I was hoping you and Turkey wouldn't notice. ;) England, I think that's the best play from us. Also, Picardy will be pulling back to Belgium. Turkey, why don't you send Moscow west? Put a bit more pressure on the land front where it would be effective… |
|
Autumn, 1911: Need a convoy this turn Italy?
Autumn, 1911: Sorry should have spoke beforehand. No not this turn, I think you support hold Marseilles or try to make moves into France with French help, there is no space for my army on that busy territory. France if you can cut support form Germany so I can take Berlin that would be great. Don't think we can offer you many more SCs, but given it is Sum of Squares scoring we can cut you into the draw with 1 SC. We may run into a walled roadblock soon too so a 5-way draw may not be out of the picture, but Turkey we can continue pushing for now :) |
|
Autumn, 1911: sounds good :)
Spring, 1912: England I'll send Belgium up NE via the Baltic. Maybe that will allow us to push back some there. Also will support-hold Norway again.
Spring, 1912: Italy, permission to send a fleet through Tunis?
Spring, 1912: Also, we can also consider the option of prussia supporting Silesia into Berlin. Just a coin flip depending on what Germany decides to do.
Spring, 1912: Yeah sure, I will trust you to move it through Tunis. Need to break through the Mid-Atlantic somehow. And concerning Berlin, do you mind supporting Prussia in with SIlesia to try something new, then if taken you can have Berlin after that army continues on, focusing your troops on the northern part while I retake France. |
|
Spring, 1912: Germany, if you move Belgium to Holland and take Burgundy with Paris, we will be at an unbreakable stalemate line even if you lose Berlin. 1. Sweden and Norway can support hold each other indefinitely, any attempt to tap Sweden with Finland depriving St. Petersburg of support necessary to take Norway. 2. Holland can safely support hold Kiel against a combined assault from Munich and Berlin. 3. Ruhr could only ever be tapped by Munich, depriving both an attack on Kiel or Burgundy of support, and otherwise should devote itself to supporting Burgundy. 4. Burgundy can hold against Marseilles forever if supported by Ruhr. 5. Gascony is safe if support hold from Brest is uninterrupted. 6. Mid Atlantic can be support held from both Irish sea and Portugal, even if they get a fleet in North Africa and rotate out the army in Spain with another fleet. |
|
Spring, 1912: Italy, let's leave our two options as Prussia -> Berlin and Munich -> Berlin, and let Germany guess. I'll support either
Spring, 1912: Turkey that sounds good. I will also support hold Spain so you don't lose it. France if you see this can you try and move Marseilles into Bur so they can't set up that stalemate? My Piedmont army is there to support you, but not take it. I agreed to keep you in the game for the draw and hope to keep that promise. |
|
Spring, 1912: Using Ruhr to force a bounce in Burgundy is just as good as occupying it for us.
Spring, 1912: Well I guess the 4-way draw may be out of the picture, but it definitely seems the 5-way draw is here. I agree with your analysis, England, and I am putting into practice the necessary moves.
Spring, 1912: Nice play grabbing North Africa England, really makes it impossible to break that line
Spring, 1912: I think you both built the necessary line to force the stalemate, Turkey I think this is as far as we can go. Unless you can see something I can't?
The only thing I can see - if England or I had a spare fleet, we could deploy it in the Baltic or Gulf of Bothnia and use it to push back at least one or two supply centres. I doubt it would be enough to change the game, but it would give England, France and I a better score, while removing some from Turkey and Italy. So you might as well vote to draw now rather than later :)
@Everyone I'll cheerfully vote draw. LOL. At least I can keep the best of all the French wine regions.
I am happy to vote draw as well!
@ France, actually I control the Bordeaux and Germany has the champagne region.
Was going to go for those extra points, but whatever, I will settle with a draw at this point. Good game all, really well played! Turkey you were a great ally, told you (and Austria) we would do well together haha
You were a fantastic ally as well Turkey, thank you for sticking together!
And a very well-played game to you all; it was my first time with public messages and it was a lot of fun
Yeah public messages always makes for an interesting game
I definitely enjoyed it too :) And to whoever created it - thanks for doing so!
I like how I wound up allied to my greatest early game rivals in this one.
@England You can have those, I just wanted to keep the Cote du Rhône.
And yes thanks everyone. Good game |
