25 Jan 20 UTC Autumn, 2: New Carthage
25 Jan 20 UTC Autumn, 2: Welcome.
30 Jan 20 UTC Autumn, 4: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
30 Jan 20 UTC Autumn, 4: Even newer Carthage here. Hey
30 Jan 20 UTC Autumn, 4: Hello.
01 Feb 20 UTC Spring, 5: Roma delenda est
01 Feb 20 UTC Spring, 5: The corn is good this year and Rome must be destroyed
02 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 5: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
03 Feb 20 UTC Spring, 6: Not much is happening. You guys wanna draw?
03 Feb 20 UTC Spring, 6: Roma delenda est
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Sorry for the second betrayal Greece! It's just that you were literally in my way of taking down Egypt.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: You really need to do political maneuvering besides just stabs.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Oh I fully agree with you. I usually don't play like this at all. But I felt like having a low thought fun game for a change. Also I didn't expect to still be alive this far in after I betrayed the two of you.
I can say that the two of you did make pretty good cases for stabbing the other one in the back when you were both trying to get me to attack the other.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Persia delenda est
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Carthage sure does like destroying things.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: There I even hit draw. In case people were afraid that I was trying to solo this thing.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Persae, tollenda
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: lol
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: greece heartily embraces persian promises of peace.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Romae certe primum dissipemus
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: ;)
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Hah. Rome's been nice though. Frankly if we all draw now you actually end up ahead Carthage since you came in with a 0 bet.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: True enough, but I always try to avoid full lobby draws. Much more interesting if we can eliminate one player at least first. Plus, I have a feeling your sudden support for a draw reveals a hint of fear in you, Persia... ;)
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Pfft look at me I'm shaking in my Greek lined boots. It's more that I got this far ahead by stabbing people in the back and I don't like winning under those circumstances.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Haven't you seen the movie 300? I think you'll have a fun time trying to take the hot gates into Athens, especially with Greek expats sending supplies from Italy
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: the more i play ancient med the more i realize that persia is the strongest faction
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: and greece is undeniably the weakest.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: i did really well this game for my faction, and my only mistake was trusting persia too much.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Both Egypt and Greece have a lower chance of survival on this map. Rome, Carthage and Persia are all pretty much tied to solo.
05 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Yeah, that feels about right.
05 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 6: Yeah, I agree. I'd say there are three tiers:
Persia
Carthage and Rome
Greece and Egypt
07 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 7: Hmmmm paused.
08 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 7: Moderator: (Szpoti): Dear Players,
On request of one of the players, this match has been paused for 24 hours. Objections to the pause should be sent to the webDiplomacy Moderator Team at webdipmod@gmail.com
08 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 7: Ah, I need to coax people to do it that way instead of agreeing to a pause when there's emergency stuff.
10 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 7: Moderator: (Szpoti): Unpaused.
16 Feb 20 UTC Spring, 10: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
18 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 10: farewell game, i hardly knew ye
18 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 10: rome, i got my comeuppance
18 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 10: It's still crazy that Carthage recovered
18 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 10: That same army has stayed in Sinai since spring 2
18 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 10: Actually, nevermind. It moved once. But since spring 2, there has been an Egyptian army in Sinaii
19 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 11: Holding a line is not my preferred way to spend a whole game, but it beats moving away from a dmz and getting blitzed by a juggernaut.
19 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 11: smart move. which is why egypt is still in the game and i'm not.
19 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 11: Persia is dangerous. I solo'd as them in my last one of these.
19 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 11: the more i play ancient med, the more i (a) don't like it, and (b) think it's skewed to the benefit of persia.
19 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 11: really to offset the disadvantages that Greece and Egypt have, I think both should start with two fleets
19 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 11: and honestly, persia and rome ought to start with 3 armies
20 Feb 20 UTC I'm starting to like vdiplomacy, where more of the maps just let you choose your own damn initial builds.
