Spring, 1901: Tournament Director: (goldfinger0303): All set here. Good luck everyone!
Spring, 1901: Best of luck to everyone!
Spring, 1901: Good luck everyone!
Spring, 1901: I will be messaging everyone but I’m tied up for the next 12 hours or so - so sorry for the delayed response if you experience one!
Spring, 1901: Likewise it'll take me about 7 hours before I can really dig in to press but good luck everyone and excited to start!
Spring, 1901: Good start for everybody!
Spring, 1904: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Spring, 1904: Everyone ok?
Spring, 1904: All good here
Spring, 1904: All is kicking here
Spring, 1904: Sorry folks - that was my fault. I was partying just a little too hard yesterday and lost track of the deadline. Won't happen again.
Spring, 1905: Tournament Director: (goldfinger0303): Pausing for two days
Spring, 1905: Tournament Director: (goldfinger0303): Unpaused
Spring, 1906: Good game Russia and Turkey - thanks for playing.
Spring, 1908: Italy said to me: Ok, this was a very hard decision and I just made it this last minute, but I think I have a shot at the solo and am going to go for it. Sorry to break the alliance, it's been a real pleasure working with you and normally I'd be fine with a draw but the structure of the tournament really stresses solos and since someone already has one, one of us needs one to stay in the running. I think I can get it, but if I miss it, I would honestly rather be defeated and have someone have a chance of beating that other guy than have us draw. Do you deny it Italy? |
|
Autumn, 1908: *grabs popcorn*
Autumn, 1908: I mean, aren't we all going for the solo? All the new information that press gives is that I'm not so great at this game and didn't attack you without warning. Or are you asking about the draw part? That's also true, I would normally be happy to have this end in a draw but I'd rather one of us four solo instead (obviously first vote is me, but any of us) so that there's a chance of competition in the tournament.
Autumn, 1908: I'm just happy to survive. If I get a chance at a solo then great, but I'm in this tournament for the opportunity to play good quality dip games, not necessarily for the win
Autumn, 1908: I actually posted it and asked the question because Germany didn't believe me. I guess he does now, but accepting your support into Tyrolia kind of shows how short term his thinking is.
Autumn, 1908: Ugh screw you Italy
Autumn, 1910: Tournament Director: (goldfinger0303): Hi everyone. Paused for a day.
Autumn, 1910: Public announcement: I am throwing to an austrian solo
Autumn, 1910: I heartily endorse this announcement!
Autumn, 1910: Eh, if you want to pick him over me that's of course your prerogative. It isn't like he's less deserving of the solo than I am, although I'm not sure he's more deserving either.
Autumn, 1910: Any of the three of us (sorry Germany) can credibly play kingmaker, and I've already said I don't want this ending in a draw. I think you picked the wrong person though because I don't mind if the game ends in a solo over a draw and so even finding your threat credible I prefer it to backing off and drawing. Whereas claiming you'll throw to me might get Austria to help you fight for a draw but I don't think he can really interfere much with our fleet battle.
Autumn, 1910: Publicer announcement: I am throwing to an Italian solo
Autumn, 1910: I have no intention of doing anything to harm his ability to prosecute a war with you. Unlike the dodgy German who is his dying throws to you damaging his own potential standing in the tournament. As to deserving - of course i am more deserving: I don't have to shut down my Nation to Coronavirus. |
|
Autumn, 1910: Nah, losing is losing in this tourney, whether that's eliminated, survived, or second biggest on the board in a draw, they all score the same 0.
Autumn, 1910: That is my point exactly. The German or England throwing to either of us is self-defeating and non-rational. If you can't win, the only rational next step to to ensure EVERYONE loses.
Autumn, 1910: In that case, since England is non-rational, best to counter non-rationality with non-rationality
Autumn, 1910: England is not serious - his Draw vote is up.
So, how's everyone doing in the rest of the tourney? And in life? Staying healthy I hope.
My Draw vote is in. Best you can do is stabilise the stalemate line Italy. We're done here I think.
Well, I'd still rather let someone solo. I was going to propose we sit at the draw and then whichever of us is doing the best in the tournament later we let take the solo so they have a chance at winning
No. You earn a solo and progress, or you don't. We shouldn't game the system for personal advantage that's effectively unearned. Where's the glory in that?
I disagree but oh well, gg and congrats on the .1, austria
gg lads | |
Good game lads - well played forcing the draw. |
