High Press Classic Game
5 days /phase
Pot: 210 D - Autumn, 1912, Finished
Classic, Anonymous players, Draw-Size Scoring
3 excused missed turn
Game drawn
01 Feb 20 UTC Spring, 1903: /on soapbox
I don't mind the five day phase, after all that's what I signed up for, although it would be nice if there were an option to have shorter build and retreat phases. The thing I have found super frustrating with this game is the repeated excused turns. I totally support the logic behind having excuses, so that we don't have to have players replaced. But I wish that even in a game that offers multiple excuses per power, that it was not possible to have more than one excused turn per phase. It is pretty obvious each time a player has gone AWOL they are not coming back, but then we have to wait through three excuses before the position can be replaced. In the future, I don't think I will play games with parameters like this unless perhaps they also have a high reliability rating requirement. It's absurd in this game that was designed to have active players and lots of time to make sure everyone got their moves in, many excuses, etc, that we have now had to replace three players (including, it appears, the player who formed the game in the first place). We're going on two months and still stuck in spring 1903.

01 Feb 20 UTC Spring, 1903: Two months...
It will take a year to finish this game.
There are already three new players in the game, and there will be more dropouts.
High press game title seems attracting, but the only press one receives is when orders are about to be adjourned. And they are constantly delayed.
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 1903: Russia Russia Russia . You broke my heart
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 1903: :)
04 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 1903: It's not like I didn't tell you, that would happen :D
05 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 1903: Looks like 1945 all over again......:-))
28 Feb 20 UTC Autumn, 1904: Goodbye Germany - your actions were all exactly of the same ilk: appalling.
06 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1905: Love to see the draw vote picking up momentum! Who else is with me?
12 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1905: In light of recent events, the Czar has announced a series of temporary travel restrictions in an abundance of caution to slow the spread of infectious disease. Specifically, all foreign travel to Norway, Kiel, Munich, and Sevastopol is hereby suspended. The Czar has also ordered the evacuation and quarantine of all cruise ships located in the Black Sea. We ask foreign travelers to respect these restrictions in furtherance of the general public welfare. Thank you.

18 Mar 20 UTC Autumn, 1905: I wish I had a "circuit breaker" like the stock market. If my supply center counts goes down by two or more in the same turn, all moves are suspended. Seems like it could come in handy sooner rather than later.
19 Mar 20 UTC Autumn, 1905: 7-6-6-5-5-5
We’re all about the same size now - what next....??
19 Mar 20 UTC Autumn, 1905: Next Turkey gives all his SCs to you, you give all your centers to Italy, Russia gives all his centers to England and England and Italy give all their centers to me.
I of course don't propose this for my own personal gain, I just like the thought of playing a little game of switcheroo and unfortunately Turkey cannot move further east. No ulterior motives here. Honestly! :D
19 Mar 20 UTC Autumn, 1905: Good idea. :) Just I would choose a different distribution. :)
I think if we could manage to swap totally our territories without any stab, I think we could convince the administrators to double to pot. :)
Shall we try it?
19 Mar 20 UTC Autumn, 1905: The "Russia gives all his centers to England" part of it is for sure happening.

21 Mar 20 UTC Autumn, 1905: GameMaster: DrugTito was banned: metagaming. The time until the next phase has been extended by one phase length to give an opportunity to replace the player.
Remember to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily!

21 Mar 20 UTC Autumn, 1905: Bene
31 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1906: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.

A player in the game is unexpectedly without internet so we have paused the game for 36 hours. Please email webdipmod@gmail.com with any concerns.

Thanks,

24 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1911: Sorry, it was me. I didn't have enough internet on a hike, and I couldn't make differences between games in my pause request.
We can continue if everybody votes for draw.
24 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1911: I mean unpause. :)
24 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1911: Alright. I hope you enjoyed your hike :)
26 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1911: Moderator: (gimix): Game has been unpaused. Have fun!
27 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1911: Thanks gimix!
27 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1911: Any chance we can get this show on the road gents? Feels like this ending of the game has lasted an insanely long time
27 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1911: I mean I enjoy a six month game as much as the next chap, don't get me wrong
27 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1911: I'm ready to go :)
27 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1911: Its gotta be UK. I wonder what he'll do here
30 Jun 20 UTC Spring, 1912: Thanks the game England!
30 Jun 20 UTC Spring, 1912: @France: I don't plan to stab Italy :), so I think we can finish the game here with a draw from You.
30 Jun 20 UTC Spring, 1912: Thanks UK
Good game!
01 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1912: Give me a bit longer, I think, I need to try to get three more centers here...
I don't think, I'll manage to do that, but I wanna play for like one or two more years to see if that's possible.
01 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1912: We can try it, we are not in hurry. :)
But I think we are at the stalemateline.
01 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1912: Yeah, I'm pretty sure too. Nothing's gonna happen in the North or central Europe. The question is, if I can break through in the Med just far enough to get Tunis, Rome and Naples.
And at least, when the two of you are actually cooperating and Turkey sends a fleet to the Ionian and maybe Apulia to give some support, I don't think, I can break through.

I guess the strategically optimal thing would be to try to convince you to turn on each other or that I'll go for an attack in central Europe, but I don't think, that would have any chance of persuading you anyway :)
01 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1912: I think I can promise I will turn against Italy, after you gave me Scandinavia and England.
But for now I promise I will move into Ion to help him and hold Ber and Mun.
01 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1912: If you won't betray Italy before taking any of my territory in the North, I think, your alliance should be pretty stable :P
01 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1912: Have you ever been at Bosphorus? We are good in building bridges, so be careful even at the North. :)
Maybe I would betray him if I would at 17 or 16 :), but there would be quite stupid thing to betray him from 10.
01 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1912: Yeah I figured. If I wasn't at 15 I would pretty happy to draw as well.
01 Jul 20 UTC Spring, 1912: Btw @Italy: good job switching the bounce around in Tunis. I had expected you to continue with the same orders as before and had given a support move from Marseilles to Gulf of Lyon, getting that fleet out there and freeing Marseilles up to build another fleet as well. Cutting that support definitely slowed me down.
02 Jul 20 UTC Oh damn. I misordered the convoy...
02 Jul 20 UTC With that army it most likely wouldn't have worked, but without there's no point in even trying...
GG
02 Jul 20 UTC Nevermind I'm sure it wouldn't be working. :) We had good position there with Italy.
Why do you think an army would be better there than a fleet? You could move there without any complication from Mao.
02 Jul 20 UTC Anyway, thanks a lot for the game, it was quite slow, but it was interesting, I've enjoyed it.
Sorry again from Pantalone, CNote and Galahadlll for my moves against you!
02 Jul 20 UTC GG all!
02 Jul 20 UTC Haha of course UK was Gally. Always tough to snuff out of a game!
24 Oct 20 UTC Thanks!
