03 Jul 19 UTC Good game, and congratulations, england. Well fought defense, Germany, sorry we didn't get there fast enough. I thought Russia would help you out, and then he took Warsaw and wouldn't move towards stp so I figured the best I could do was keep him busy but we didn't get things together fast enough.
03 Jul 19 UTC GG everyone. I felt I got a perfect start as England, very much like swordsman3003 wrote in his diary of his ODC game. I was lucky when stabbing Germany on actually getting Marseilles, but after that it was more or less only a matter of time. Where Turkey tripped up was in not recognising that I would take all of the North, and therefore only needed Tunis to win with time. Focusing on taking Italy’s centres instead of blocking Tunis is what gave me the solo.
03 Jul 19 UTC Yeah, I thought Russia would be able to get stp or that we could save munich in time.
03 Jul 19 UTC That is the learning - StP can never be held from the south. Mun can be held, but to keep it you need Liv, Pru, Mos and Ber - otherwise I can always break through eventually (with Ber I can take Liv by cutting support from Pru, with Liv I can take Pru and from Pru I can cut support from Sil, meaning I have four units can three on Mun). That is why Tun was the key - the other line requires a lot more.
03 Jul 19 UTC I'm not sure what I could've done past a certain point, probably 06 I should've gone for tyrr instead of apu? When he disbanded tunis instead of one of the armies and then didn't bounce you I think it was already too late to try and get tunis back, right?
03 Jul 19 UTC (thanks for helping with the questions!)
03 Jul 19 UTC Good game; I really got stuck in my own sphere once St Pete was gone. I became hyperfocused on regaining an edge on Turkey that I ignored what was happening in the west. There was a chance that I could have retaken St Pete but that was out of the question by the time I made a move for it. By then, the line along Berlin to Munich was simply for aesthetics since England had the game. My apologies, but congrats @jollycream.
04 Jul 19 UTC On that note, jollycream, your spring 1905 moves were pretty stellar. There wasn't much that Germany could do to recover from them, and it shaped the game the rest of the way.

To Turkey's points, I felt that in 1906 we were working our mutual way westward. Germany still had some life, but with me closing in from the east. In hindsight, the game would have been somewhat different if you had offered to take Venice in Autumn 1906 instead of making the move to Vienna. I appreciate the stab but it would have been a different game for your fleets to totally swamp the Med on the way to Tunis. C'est la vie.
