15 Jun 19 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
15 Jun 19 UTC I was sure we could've finished off Austria and split the board
15 Jun 19 UTC I wasn't, so hence my defensive moves :) good game, thanks for playing all.
15 Jun 19 UTC Not really possible to develop that level of trust in Gunboat.
15 Jun 19 UTC Also we would have been here until about 1918.
15 Jun 19 UTC Also we would have been here until about 1918.
15 Jun 19 UTC Russia....its hard enough to play Russia in gunboat without that horrid opening
15 Jun 19 UTC especially as France with England constantly in my back. But good collaboration overall, England, and good battle, Austria, it was important for me to check Italy and prevent any solo from your side
15 Jun 19 UTC and 1918 translates into 2am here :)
15 Jun 19 UTC Damn
15 Jun 19 UTC I just couldn't break France. oh well
15 Jun 19 UTC Eh, I'd say there was a real chance to, given neither of us antagonized the other for the entire game....and dude you messed up taking StP, Germany was using his last fleet to help you and you went to Prussia instead...that would've forced me into an earlier draw
15 Jun 19 UTC Chaqa I was praying Italy would turn on austeia earlier after I saw what Russia was (not) doing
15 Jun 19 UTC I knew I needed to fight France cause NO ONE ELSE WOULD
15 Jun 19 UTC Also I started drinking during live game #1 od the night so this one was... a bit difficutlk
15 Jun 19 UTC Once I saw I had no chance for any of the gains there and u were heading west I knew I was in turtle.mode
15 Jun 19 UTC I don't disagree, Hachiman, just the reality of live gunboat, that's all. I don't think I ever messed up a move around StP (at least this game)
15 Jun 19 UTC Chaqa, I don't remember needing four fleets as France to fend off Italy, well played, and indeed I only survived because EG left me alone
15 Jun 19 UTC I could have taken StP with German support in Spring 08, but I couldn't have held it for long. With all those English armies, the line was destined to form just South of Warsaw and Moscow.
15 Jun 19 UTC Ah no France, I was talking to Austria about StP. And speaking of that, I think I made a mistake by building army as first unit, I was stuck twiddling thumbs since Germany and Russia had a tentative alliance, I was lucky Russia fell quick so I could convoy to Sweden. If France decided to send his fleets up north I'd be gone
15 Jun 19 UTC I think your first build was a good read, Hachiman. Italy was harassing me by moving Ven-Pie-Mar and taking Tunis with a fleet. I didn't expect to get Bel, that was a bonus. So my build A Par and F Mar were very predictable. As England, whenever I can build an army, I do, and you convoyed them all quickly.
