13 Apr 19 UTC Great work France.... you never saw that Italy was coming ?
13 Apr 19 UTC Good game, it was one of the most fun games I´ve ever played.
13 Apr 19 UTC GG all, well done italy.
13 Apr 19 UTC Come to Liverpool some day for a cup of tea and I will explain it to you.
13 Apr 19 UTC Good game all. Really enjoyed it - apart from perhaps my rapid decline
13 Apr 19 UTC GG Italy
13 Apr 19 UTC By the way, well played, France. I never thought you would make it through with that start and Germany and England attacking you.
13 Apr 19 UTC Russia blowing up his units for italy was a big part of it too, england, but I also found france's play surprising.
13 Apr 19 UTC My desperate attempt to encorporate myself in the western stalemate line was unfortunately rebuffed
13 Apr 19 UTC Nice country you got there, your country will be remembered as the mosquitoes we smushed
13 Apr 19 UTC @england
13 Apr 19 UTC France didn't have the navy needed to turn around and stop Italy by the time it was reasonably apparent that Italy was coming.
13 Apr 19 UTC yeah it was rough coming into the game late, would have easily been able to get big enough to contest you had england not decided to go for portugal spain while still fighting russia and germany in the north
13 Apr 19 UTC Russia - thanks for being my ally, realise as soon as I did it that letting italy have all of turkey was a mistake. My NMR didnt help as I think I might have got a build I could have used for defence

Italy - you were a great ally, till you weren't :-) Loved our take down of Turkey. I was hoping France would come at you at some point enough that you might consider staying allied for a draw
13 Apr 19 UTC Germany, I did what I did because you made it clear for many, many years that I had no future in your vision of the endgame. At one point you invaded Sweden while England had attacked you for a solid year, forcing me to disband my northern fleet, then built an army and immediately attacked England. By the time Austria and I needed to turn to stop Italy we were way too entrenched. I made several shows of support for you against England and every one of them was rebuffed. You've got to show something to make me think you won't immediately dispose of me once the solo is stopped, if you want me to stop the solo.
13 Apr 19 UTC I only move to towards Portugal because you keep stabbing on me
13 Apr 19 UTC Honestly the West was a giant mess. England and Germany kept attacking literally everybody within striking distance, including each other. The environment there was ridiculously low-trust. I don't blame France who I thought made reasonable decisions to try to protect himself and expand.
13 Apr 19 UTC So great game Italy superbly well played. Russia and I not having any fleets or the ability to build was well capitalised on.

France great recovery.

Gg all to be honest a lot of good play.
13 Apr 19 UTC stabbing on you? Lol you're fucking garbage. I built only armies to push out germany i couldn't stab you if I wanted to. Whats sad is you willingly lost your entire northern front to suicide a fleet to portugal TWICE
13 Apr 19 UTC England that's not true. You moved for Portugal the same turn France attacked Belgium (moving to MAO and English Channel). Given how grubby and shortsighted you were all game, I have no doubt that if France had played nice you'd have taken Portugal anyway and made him disband for the trouble.
13 Apr 19 UTC It was really fun to eliminate the Turkish monster. I don´t think you made a big mistake. You couldn´t really stop me of getting all of Turkey and without any navy it was easy for me to overrun you.
The only thing was you could have done some better guesses and moves during the determing years.
13 Apr 19 UTC Yeah GG to all except this garbage england handing italy the win :P
13 Apr 19 UTC Yeh we were cooked Austria, there just wasn't a way around it. Turkey buried my chance at naval power in the south, and past a certain point Russia just cannot be a northern naval power. The best I could do was send crappy little armies to Finland lol.
13 Apr 19 UTC Russia, all of that makes sense, and was well reasoned.
13 Apr 19 UTC I missed any shows of support from you, probably because I was outside and playing on my phone. I certainly did not communicate to you well enough that I was fine with you being a power in the north if it gave me a crack against England.
13 Apr 19 UTC In retrospect, I think I did have one chance to build a fleet in Sevastopol if I had thought further ahead, but I don't know that I could have held off Germany on both fronts and done anything with the fleet build.
13 Apr 19 UTC I haven't used the phone interface before, but I know that the supports don't show up unless you open the big map, so that's a lot of it. I wish I could have found a way to extricate myself from the situation but such is life in a no-talking game :p
13 Apr 19 UTC Yeh my guess weren't great, let you walk into a couple of centres. Learnt a lot though and had a good time doing it
13 Apr 19 UTC But very interesting game, the latest first elimination I´ve ever seen yet, Turkey made it until the end 0f 1909 and 6 players survived until the end.
13 Apr 19 UTC This is generally how Diplomacy games "should" go I think. One power's demise usually helps some more than others, so the prospective losers are incentivized to stall out offensives until the situation changes. Negotiation allows clever people to pull the wool over the eyes of the prospective losers.
