21 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1901: hello!
21 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1901: Hi, good luck and have fun
21 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1901: thanks u2 :)
21 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1901: tough break on that coin flip around my A Tyr btw.
in this format I'd generally recommend tapping Tyrolia as either side in spring 1901, because the gain of getting an army into Tyr early is pretty substantial (whoever gets in can threaten the other side's home supply center, which means that there's an important coin flip that can be potentially game-ending if you lose it) is a decent read imo if you're curious, i'm happy enough to chat about it more directly if u like as well
21 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1901: I figured a bounce worked in your favour as can then still take trieste whereas I'd have nothing.
21 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1901: Maybe bad call
21 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1902: in standard openings, A munich typically ends up in Tyorlia end of 1901, but because I need to convoy A Rom into Greece, I'm stuck at 2 builds even with Trieste taken.
And then the game tends to become a battle over position in Tyrolia, MAO, and the Balkans - if Italy can achieve a major breakthrough, he can win, but Germany can bottle up MOA in the west, Tyrolia/Bohemia in the middle, and seal off Moscow in the north, he can usually get his 18+
21 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1902: Also a general rule of thumb in these sorts of games is to be moving your units towards the front lines / key stalemate positions unless you have a really good reason not to

So F Kiel almost always goes Kiel-Hol-Bel (+1 build), then Bel-ENG-Bre (+1 build), then MAO in 1903 to force Italy to push hard if he wants to not suffer from MAO being sealed off. Here I'm able to move my fleets around at leisure, because you moved your fleet north instead of west, so it's going to be a while before you can reach MAO, so I don't need to worry about you sealing it off.
Similarly, A War typically goes to Gal in spring 1902, and is then able to fight in the Balkans. Sometimes you see A War-Ukraine instead, and at that point it's heading to Sev anyway, but more aggressive moves are usually helpful, since there's a risk that Italy can seal off the Balkans given enough time.
21 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1902: Speaking of which: why do you think I retreated to Ruhr instead of Burgundy or Tyrolia or Silesia (which might have been attractive given that you vacated Berlin to retake Munich)?
21 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1902: Makes sense, I'm playing a bit sporadic :)
21 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1903: no worries :)
22 Feb 19 UTC gg
22 Feb 19 UTC Gg. No surprises with result
22 Feb 19 UTC you get more used to the format when you play a bit more. the opening moves made it tough to recover, once I won the fall 1901 coin flip to get into Munich it was very hard for you to win.
