Game won by curupira (3412 D)
27 Feb 19 UTC hi, people. thanks for the game.
27 Feb 19 UTC Well done curupira. I was disappointed Turkey stabbed me in this one, as I felt it was pointless and would only throw the game to France.I was definitely looking at a 3-way draw FRT.
27 Feb 19 UTC Thank you for the game. I noticed that I was one move too late to notice how the game had turned. I am not sure I would have managed to keep Tunis, but losing Tuscany meant it was a matter of time. Sorry Turkey for being slow.
27 Feb 19 UTC Well played France. This is one of those for me where I just tripped on my own shoelaces and never got anywhere!
27 Feb 19 UTC Good win France, nice taking advantage of some chaos and identifying the weak spots. I was disappointed with the Russian stab in 1906 but it also made sense from their perspective (until Turkey stabbed them). Then I just tried to hold on long enough to find a spot in the draw, which never came.
27 Feb 19 UTC Loss of Tuscany was the loss of the game. Italy, you supported France into Tyrolia, you supported his advance...

I attacked Russia specifically because he was killing Germany greatly helping France, otherwise I would not have. Had Russia gone and /helped/ Germany, I would not have attacked Russia, but if was obvious to me that Russian attacks on Germany were handing France a solo.
27 Feb 19 UTC Disagree.

I was in line for a FRT draw. Turkey could have advanced faster over Italy and helped Russia later. That was my take of the game. Because of this, I had a navy always monitoring WMed, affraid that Italy would run from you to the West, over me.

Germany has played greatly, from my point of view, fighting England, then Russia, and for a draw in the end.
27 Feb 19 UTC Once Russia attacked Germany, all of Germany's moves were pro France anti Russia..
27 Feb 19 UTC My moves were pro-defense but there was a bias towards defending Russia over France when my choices were limited. I saw this as the only possibility into a draw.
27 Feb 19 UTC One of my fastest defeat in my book :)
27 Feb 19 UTC I know that in Spring 1909 I didn’t think through properly that France coming on to me, while Turkey stabbed Russia, meant that I would have been able to switch from defend against Turkey mode which had been the default for the whole game. I think I put that move in while on a fairly wild ski party...
27 Feb 19 UTC in spring of 1910, you could have self bounced on Tuscany, instead of actually moving the fleet in, that would have saved us, I think, because the following turn, you could have moved Venice to Tuscany and Apulia to Venice with my support.
27 Feb 19 UTC France, my decision to attack Russia, rather than trying to kill Italy for a 3 way was made just prior to fall of 1908. For three turns, prior to that, i had watched Russia attack Germany, with no success, and France grew stronger and stronger after each Russian move. Russian had one fleet only and France had 3, Russia had no more ability to build any more fleets, it looked to me that France would get all of scan and all of Germany. Note that the same turn I hit Russia, France came for Italy, so I wasn't going to get to Tunis first either. Sticking with Russia looked like a highly likely french solo, hitting Russia, had risk of the same things, but i thought at some point Russia would stop suiciding on me and set up his lines, which he actually eventually did, albeit a bit late, although it was Germany that figured out to support me to Silesia and Russia made a super smart cut at the med on Livonia, but with Tuscany already lost during a drunken ski trip, it was not to be..
