05 Feb 19 UTC In my defence, I stabbed Italy because I was afraid of being cut out of the draw. I then tries everything within my power to communicate that, but apparently we were too far gone. This could've been a nice 3-way draw.
05 Feb 19 UTC Turkey, stabbing me for Sevas in 1904 wasn't very bright and it signed your death warrant.
05 Feb 19 UTC one of my worse game in ages :-)
well, I guess I wont try to ally Germany with 2 fleet in 1901 another time. I though I give it a try!
05 Feb 19 UTC It's better to ally a 2-fleet Germany than a 4-army one.. Building only fleets yourself makes you a bit vulnerable though.
05 Feb 19 UTC yes I know, but I have a weak point for the GF, where in this case, you need to build French fleet. Here I just made a fool of myself letting the whole country open and gave G a huge head start.
but Well played G
05 Feb 19 UTC Good game,
I probably wouldn´t have stabbed France if it would not have been so easy to run him down. To build two fleets has been a huge mistake I guess.
And if I hadn´t made the mistake not to bounce Silesia and Ska in spring 1902 I probably hadn´t lost Munich later on. Luckily Russia and Italy started fighting.
05 Feb 19 UTC Thank you all for playing.

Congrats Theoneandonly!

Claesar, what about the Spring 1907 situation gave the impression of Russia being cut out? I thought we had finally reached a good partnership!
05 Feb 19 UTC Also regarding communicating, how were you trying to do that? Do you mean before or after the attack on Italy?
05 Feb 19 UTC I was worried the entire time. When you took Munich and built two fleets, I thought you were going to dominate the Med while G had no clear way to reclaim Munich. I had not taken the German convoy into account, which was a smart move on his part.

In Autumn, I should probably have retreated instead of pushing out. You were losing Munich and showed an interest in eliminating Turkey (which probably meant 3-way drawing). I decided to push on though as I figured that would also get us a 3-way but with me in a super secure position instead. Didn't expect to snipe another two centres though..

When you disbanded all your fleets, I knew we were potentially in some trouble. I had already planned to make a peace offering there, but this would make it more difficult. Still, I managed to order some clear support Holds while ceding territory to you. Though, looking back, I should've done that already in Spring 1908 rather than Autumn.

I chose to disband in a way that would show you we'd have to work together or cede a solo. I then ordered my units around very poorly which almost guaranteed a solo anyhow.. Looking back, I'm less pleased with some of my moves than I thought I would be. Guess I just failed us :-(
05 Feb 19 UTC I'm talking Autumn 1908. In my mind I started earlier, but apparently I outmanoeuvered myself.
05 Feb 19 UTC yeah good game Germany. I tried to keep the north super open by flipping before you got too strong, but france's builds were p much pure anti-england lol
05 Feb 19 UTC Huh, okay I see. I guess my read was that you thought you would take those centers off me, then I would just hold the line to keep a few measly points while you selfishly topped. I assumed you expected me suck it up and take a 6 center draw over fight you and lose it all (I would never let an attack go unanswered). Even then I would have worked something out, but you built fleet Sev, which told me you planned to take out Turkey. So while Germany pushed for a solo you were planning to attack everyone but Germany. With all this pro German activity that further implied if I take your peace offer and go forth to hold against Germany you might still stab me again for the dots. The final straw was disbanding the line against Germany which suggested you wanted to throw the game. My sense was you were a dot thirsty brother.
05 Feb 19 UTC I'm not, but I can't deny my actions did suggest that.
05 Feb 19 UTC All I can say about this game is that I am happy Italy and Russia lost one way or another...
05 Feb 19 UTC Yeah, we killed you pretty nastily.
06 Feb 19 UTC What would have made you more comfortable in 1907 Claesar?
06 Feb 19 UTC Me anticipating the German convoy to Berlin, or that you wouldn't try to take over Iberia. You taking Con in Autumn 1907, but that was a big ask.

But I guess what you're asking is, how could you have prevented my stab? Some of these would've helped:
-A06: Not taking Munich but instead shoring up France. We don't need Munich to prevent a solo. The only strong reason to take it is to solo yourself.
-S06: Trl S Vie-Boh instead of Trl S Ven-Tri. I understand Ven-Tri, but not the need to support it in.
-A05: Not building another army.
-S05: Vie S Bud H, but I suppose you weren't trying to ally me yet at that point.

Other than that I did see you were trying to ally me in A05. I just never felt comfortable in my position.. Once you're in that panic room, it's hard to step out.
10 Feb 19 UTC Another?
