17 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1911: So Russia mentioned he might like some EoG's written up on this game, and since he's been so kind and turned the map this nice purple color, I figured if we all wanted to do that we could throw them in the original forum post.
17 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1912: Posting them in global might work better, unless we actively want the entire site to read them.
18 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1912: (To: Global, from England) - Autumn, 1902: *Also obvious juggernaut is obvious. Especially in light of Austrian nmr's, we must band together now more than ever or we shall all die. I recognize that my arrogance and abrasive nature makes me a difficult ally, but remember, after stopping the juggernaut, you can still give me my just desserts.
18 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1912: Am I prescient or what?
18 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1912: What jugg? I don't see a jugg?
18 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1912: You are completely right, there certainly was no jugg
20 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1912: I checked my orders many times, and I am very confident I ordered MAO-IriS. So you all know, I will be emailing the mods to ask if they can check the server side orders. Hopefully it was somehow just my mistake, but there might also be pausing or investigating involved. :/
21 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1912: Mods got back to me. Apparently, I'm just a complete idiot; carry on... (I don't even know when the last time I misordered was...)
21 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1912: I think you secretly just wanted England to stay intact out of respect for my talents.
21 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1912: Hmmm... Sure...
21 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1912: NMR....
21 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1912: Sorry guys...
22 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1913: :( Almost done. Ready up to speed things through?
23 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1913: Been ready. Let's finish the pain.
24 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1913: I'm ready, let's finish this.
24 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1913: Me to
24 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1913: I am also ready? Not sure why we're not going, then
24 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1913: Italy?
24 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1913: Yeah, to be honest I forgot Italy was still alive for a second... (Sorry Italy... We still love you.)
24 Apr 19 UTC oh whoops, remember how France underwent a CD?

We'll keep you in mind if we have any dropouts, Baskineli.

Ah well... was a futile spot anyway.
24 Apr 19 UTC Readied up. Again.
24 Apr 19 UTC Locked in, let's keep this moving!
26 Apr 19 UTC Praise the Lord!
26 Apr 19 UTC My goodness gracious! we're finished.
26 Apr 19 UTC Well, I was going to say this earlier, but the person who's been gone a while returns to win it all...

very well done PF, you did a great job and were clearly by far, by FAR, the most interested person in this game. You played around me in circles, and you deserve this win. Good for you!

I'm happy to send a response later tonight about the game
26 Apr 19 UTC (also if everyone's up for it besides Equi_, we could do another one sometime.)
26 Apr 19 UTC PF, congrats. Outside of maybe 4-5 other players that I know of (two of whom are in this game) you had the best press by far that I've ever seen. Well done, and I'd certainly be up for another.
26 Apr 19 UTC Spring 1901 - Nervous. From the list in the forum, there are some very high level players here. That 30 bet knocked me down to a 'political puppet' again. I just don't want to be taken advantage of and kicked out earl- maybe if I'm lucky I can sneak into a draw here. Talking with the other players, Russia seems dangerous - the verbosity and formality of the press makes it seem as though he's been here awhile. Says he won't move to StP *(funnily enough, out of the 10 times I had played irl and the few times I had played online, I had NEVER seen Moscow move to StP on first turn. This blew my mind, and made me immediately suspicious). Possibly PF. France seems like more of a noob then I do, as does Germany. Austria's noticed the Russian's press as well, and also seems wary. Can't help him too much early. Turkey seems friendly, but probably doesn't matter for either of us unless Russia moves north. Italy's dead set on hitting France early. He seems to know what he's doing, and with France seemingly as much if not more so of a noob than me, an early hit on him might work out well. I usually like to move against Russia, but if Russia's going out of his way to tell me he won't move aggressively in a way that I've never seen, he probably means it. Let's hit France.
26 Apr 19 UTC Fall 1901. FML. If I had gone with my gut and just went to Norw Sea and North Sea instead of listening to Italy, this wouldn't have mattered. Well shit and smack me upside the head with a bottle of Dubra.
26 Apr 19 UTC Not only did this turn ruin my relationship with France, Germany seems starstruck by Russia, AND Russia's got me by the balls. I'm going to be aggressive, fuck it. Going for Bel and Norway both, and pretending to be a nutcase willing to throw over a lie might get Russia to back off. It worked irl, so let's do it again.
26 Apr 19 UTC Fall 1902. He'll support hold himself in Norway, so I'll hit Germany instead - clearly his ally, so I'll be fighting off all three of them anyway. Might as well go for the sure thing, and maybe he'll blow up a fleet.
26 Apr 19 UTC Nice.
26 Apr 19 UTC Spring 1903. Time to guess and bounce like you're back at college in French class and your octagenarian teacher is trying to give you a test and invite you back to her place for wine and artsy French films again.
26 Apr 19 UTC Fall 1903. Damn, that was timely nmr. And Austria's gone - time to scream juggernaut and hope Germany hears it.
26 Apr 19 UTC Spring 1904. The madman didn't convoy. I'm a lucky as hell. I'm starting to think that I can hold off France and Germany for a really long time- but how long until Russia starts building northern fleets?
26 Apr 19 UTC In bigger and better news, France seems interested in flipping and attacking the others... and Russia's now dominating the South too. He just stabbed Turkey hard, and Italy's clearly in on it too. Not good. My time without extra northern fleets in my waters is probably almost up.
26 Apr 19 UTC Fall 1904- Holland is still mine, bitch. Hell yeah. Germany clearly did not see this coming, and he even retreated away from me!!
26 Apr 19 UTC Spring 1905, Fall 1905. The Russian is sweet talking me, and suddenly Germany is interested in working together. If my grandfather knew Berlin was taking marching orders from Moscow he'd roll over in his grave. The only explanation is that France is becoming a concern to the puppet master - and now they like me again. How can I use this?
26 Apr 19 UTC Spring- Fall 1906. Lol. If Germany is chill with me in Holland, he's definitely taking orders from Moscow. Le sigh. Russia is advancing in the South again with the help of a resurgent Turkey- and Italy looks like he might have bit off more than he can chew. And for some reason France seems to think it wise to abandon his waters and go full bore for Italy. The power of press can be mesmerizing.
26 Apr 19 UTC Fall 1907 - the German left Denmark and went to the Bight. The stab is clearly coming from the Ber-Mosc axis, but France is unresponsive about the need to unite to the stop the solo, Turkey seems disinterested, and Italy seems so mad at France that he might just throw. Ugh.
26 Apr 19 UTC Spring 1908. Well yeah, and there it is. I need to go with my gut more *(I have since this game- completely changed how I play).
26 Apr 19 UTC Fall 1908 - the solo is imminent. I'll keep trying to unite everyone, but I doubt it'll work. This is like trying to run polycarbonate at room temperature.
26 Apr 19 UTC SPring 1909. Oh looky. The thing I've been warning about just happened. NOW he wants to ally against the solo. Looks like it might be a bit late.
26 Apr 19 UTC Spring 1910-1913 Just finish it, PF ;)
26 Apr 19 UTC I'm not usually one for self-reflection or nostalgia etc., but you asked for it and you really did earn it. So there you go, PF. An EOG just for you. Congrats again
26 Apr 19 UTC Thanks England. It was a fun read. :)

And thanks for the great game, everyone! It's been a pleasure getting to compete with you all in this wacky game. As England has already started, and given the relative calibre of the game and its bizarre process, I would love to hear what you all have to say in EoGs. I know there's a lot of things I don't understand why the game played out as it did. They wouldn't have to be long—just a couple paragraphs—but I think they'd be beneficial for us all to learn and improve.
That said, I won't actually have time to write mine up until next week...
26 Apr 19 UTC ^Germany, I mean absolutely nothing personal by any of my complaints about your gameplay- I very much enjoyed our chatting about Dutch politics and you seem like a fine fellow, but I really was flabbergasted by your alliance with Russia especially when the stab seemed, at least to me, fairly obvious.
27 Apr 19 UTC Been meaning to do a brief eog

1901 I get what I think is a reasonable anti-france coalition. First blunder- I tell russia and (I think) he uses this info to open north to pull england away from the fight. Germany tells me after several phases he’s been passing moves to France. Russia’s got germany under his spell.

Quickly realize Russia is a very strong player and I start marshaling a coalition to slow him. No one is sending much helpful press though except england and he’s just trying to hang on.

I try and get austria onboard, he seems a strong player (hi ezio!) but hard to coordinate with in the early game.

That means I’m going to need turkey in my side vs Russia, at least temporarily.

Somehow I convince Russia I’m on his side and he helps me take over former Austria. I stab him and take the rest

Mistake #2 I move to emed in spring 1905, turkey will never work with me again in the game.
27 Apr 19 UTC Autumn 1906 France abandons his offensive and swings back to attack me in the med. without any press
Partners it’s 3vs me

I disband a gal at Russia’s request. I figure at that point I can wreck Russia’s game by sending everything north and essentially throw things to France and/or turkey. But I like russia better because he always presses well, and this seems to spiteful since it was u who nastily stabbed him after he helped me vs Austria and turkey.

Anyway I decide if no one else wants to fight Russia I can’t do it alone. I’ll just focus on diminishing France and let russia edge closer to the solo until turkey gets alarmed and changes course to work with me

This never happens.
