07 Feb 19 UTC Good game, Germany.
07 Feb 19 UTC Thanks! I thought I blew it in '06 when I helped France's army retreat, leaving space for him to retreat. It would have been a great move the turn before, and I got it in my head to do it. My only shot was keeping all players in as long as possible to prevent alliances.
07 Feb 19 UTC well, the move that killed me was the jump around convoy to Liverpool to save his army from destruction. It's a move I use a lot, but almost never have I seen anyone else use it, that was the very first time it was used against me. I saw it in advance, because it is what I would have done in Germany's shoes, then I weighed the options for many minutes, reviewing prior moves by Germany, to try to decide how advanced he was, and whether or not he would try it, and decided that he would not, but then he did, and I was done for.
07 Feb 19 UTC I am willing to accept a large part of the blame for this solo. I decided to stab Italy in 1907 because I was afraid of getting cut out of the draw. I figured we could still get Turkey in position fast enough to keep Iberia away from Germany. I was wrong.

It's also possible I went into Galicia a turn too late, but that was really hard with Turkey breathing down my neck. I reckon in the end this wasn't my fault and we were unlucky to lose the 50-50 before I was able to shore up Russia.
07 Feb 19 UTC Good game, all. Yes, the Austrian move did put a damper on things. Always easy to see, after it’s too late.
07 Feb 19 UTC Very emphatic, Italy!
07 Feb 19 UTC England I think I'll accept the compliment, and I'll say I made some goofy moves so you would think I wasn't capable of the convoy...yeah, that's the ticket!
08 Feb 19 UTC well, it's normal in gunboat, you assess the experience and skill of each player as you go along, you cannot tell who they are, but you can kind of, sort of, figure out what level they are at, as well as their style of play. It's not an exact science. This then affects how we play, it;s not easy, but we do it. For whatever reason, I thought you would not do it, then you did, oh well!
