03 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2000: Moderator: (Claesar): I'm investigating. It'll take a few days, depending on how fast people reply to my emails.
04 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2000: ok, gl weeding it out
04 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2000: Moderator: (Claesar): Unpaused, have fun all!
29 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: So, we have what, Quebec + HL + NYS + Peru as an alliance. Am I missing something, or does that mean someone is going to get betrayed?
29 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: I 'll be honest. Did we want to draw or keep going?
29 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: fine with either
29 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: I'm up for a 3 or 4 way draw so some time to go yet
29 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: Okay sounds good.
29 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: Well, I am fucked. Can't really beat 2 from the north and one from the south at the same time. Any ideas? I guess I could just pick someone and try and throw a solo to them, its better than a slow grinding loss.
30 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: Ooh, pick me, pick me!
30 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: But in reality, there won’t be any solos—it’s pretty hard on this map. You need 34. So if I picked up every single SC from you, Texas, and Cuba, I’d still be 5 short.
30 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: I played a game that ended in a solo on the europe '94 map- though that was helped in the end by a player nmr'ing. Idk if it would have happened regardless
30 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: I have soloed this map. It is hard though, usually I see 3-ways.
31 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: It’s been a long time since I’ve played that map. Is it another one where you need more than a simple majority to solo? Because that’s what makes this tricky—it’s majority +5 SCs
31 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: can't really recall- needs 34 sc's
31 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: you are both right... if you need to know variation specific rules, you can always click on the variation at the header
31 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: The stats on vdip are pretty interesting : https://vdiplomacy.net/stats.php?variantID=20
31 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: Solo to draw ratio is a lot lower than classic
31 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: Unsurprisingly, Cuba is the one with the worst performance, though I am a little surprised BC has the best
31 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: Never mind—Quebec is the best, which makes sense—lots of open scs to start, and a maximum of 3 enemies in the early years
31 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 2006: fight to death!
02 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2007: As a second-time player of this variant (who happened to do fine as Cuba in my first game), BC is pretty rubbish :P
02 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2007: I can imagine that whoever wins the north would often have a decisive advantage; there's a lot more strategic depth there than in the south
03 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2007: I would guess BC has only two viable options: attack California with Mexico, or ally with Quebec and charge at Heartland. With the unit placement at the start and the only SC uncontested being Washington, and Idaho being a trash territory for defense, BC has a hard time of it at the start. Having 4 as all your neighbors have 6/7 and places to go, you’re set up to be a nuisance behind someone and not much else.

But then, I’m a tad biased :P
03 Jan 19 UTC Spring, 2008: BC can hit Quebec, but you need Cali and HL not to kill you while you do it.
04 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2008: Also, Greenland is crucial in this map, and neither Quebec nor BC can afford to let the other have it, but if you contest it, you’re basically bound for conflict
04 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2008: I feel like this map is set up to encourage 2 wars to basically be inevitable: Quebec vs. BC and Cuba vs. Florida
04 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2008: And unlike the classic map, which sets Russia and turkey up for conflict, there’s not really anything to encourage a juggernaut
10 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2009: I am indeed enjoying this variant quite a bit- I like it better than Modern Diplomacy, but I think my favorite here is the Ancient Med. I'm hopeful Celtic Britain will get imported here though, that map looks awesome, though I'm not sure about the balance.
13 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2010: Once Cuba is gone, I'd like a five way draw. NY and Cali are both on board- Heartland and Quebec?
16 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2011: I don't see a stalemate forming yet--I think we should hold off
16 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2011: Yeah, fighting the good fight has become boring. I am going to lose to the 3-1 anyway, so I will just start hitting ready without orders. GG y'all.
16 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2011: Not going to at least put up a fight?
16 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2011: I was in Anchorage and Colorado. I think I have put up enough of a fight. Nothing wrong with honorable concession.
16 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2011: Will the game get interesting now?
18 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2012: I've voted draw.
19 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2013: With this one wrapping up, if anyone wants a rematch, here’s a game I started: webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=234874
20 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2013: California, since you’re about to be toast, here’s your prop 65 warning that toast contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
20 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2013: Cold as ice
20 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2013: It does get pretty chilly in the upper Midwest this time of year
20 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2013: Shit, I lived in Chicago for 17 years. Now I live in the central pacific. I don't miss the cold one bit.
20 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2013: I have joined the rematch :)
20 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2013: So will I. What is the name of the game
20 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2013: I linked it
20 Jan 19 UTC Autumn, 2013: I linked it
