Sat 08 Dec UTC Germany, if you wanted me to take out Russia, which I would have gladly done, you have to move way back to the Berlin/Munich/stp line, give up Warsaw and Moscow as I fight the Russian. Evacuate Silesia, Prussia, Livonia, and I would have made it a three way draw.

If I attack Russia from the current position, you just charge back to the front and if you get Vienna, you solo. It's way too dangerous for me to attack Russia from the current position.

That's why I was attacking Warsaw, to tell you that if you wanted me to do the Russian attack, you had to give me Warsaw first. You had 17 SC, you could have easily fallen back to 15 SC, with no risk at all to you.
Sat 08 Dec UTC Well if you intended to do that, you should have not voted Draw in a hidden draw votes game
Sat 08 Dec UTC I agree with Turkey, you have to pull waaay back, give us SCs we can defend, then we take Russia out.

All that said, thx for the game everyone. This was my first game after 5 years break!

Russia, was there any scenario in which you would have attacked Germany? I was hoping you will move on him when you had the chance to take swe/ber/mun. I just couldnt figure out what should I have done to make you attack Germany.
Sat 08 Dec UTC Germany, I made obvious moves to that effect for two turns in a row, you did nothing to respond. The responsibility to set up a scenario that it was safe to eliminate Russia was with you, not me.
Sun 09 Dec UTC Italy, in Spring 1909, Germany was still dealing with England and you held two German SCs. Up to that point, I was focusing on Austria. Next turn it flipped and German builds clearly indicated he was coming for me, which is when I went defensive as Turkey also shifted towards me. I didn’t see Germany as the threat until it was too late. I should have paid better attention to the tactical positions.
Sun 09 Dec UTC Russia, I always thought Germany is the only threat. Even when I had 12 SCs I really had 8 or so. On the other hand Germany had zero enemies, no fleets on the northern part of the map, and no threat from you.

It was guaranteed he will get England and moscow even when I was in Ruhr. The only reason I attacked Germany was to slow him down until we can contain Turkey. Sadly we couldn't contain so I had to let Germany take England.

Also, you fighting for st petersburg scared me. Theres no constellation under which you can protect st petersburg from the south, therefore there's no point to fight for it.

Anyways, this is just tactics in which you will get better over time. The hard part is strategy, identifying who your enemies are and when.
Sun 09 Dec UTC Russia, I never attacked you ever, the entire game. I shifted my army to Armenia only after you made the incredibly hostile builds in 1909 of armies in both Sevastopol and Moscow, while facing an obvious German solo, you built in the two places most hostile to me, leaving stp and Warsaw empty, when you could have built a fleet in stp, no, you built an army in Sevastopol??
Sun 09 Dec UTC I was not looking far enough ahead. Turkey, true, you never attacked me and even supported me, I did not understand the Black Sea move, which is why I built in Sevastopol. I;ve had too many games where my allies said "but you left it open to me." The Moscow build was in consideration of moving north, where it did stay.
Sun 09 Dec UTC I was in black sea since spring of 1901, and stayed there for ten turns, and never attacked you once during those ten turns, and supported your attack when able to do so safely.

you were in black sea after that for three turns and never attacked me.

I went back into Black Sea for defensive purposes as you conquered Austria and never showed any interest in attacking Germany. without any hint that you intended to attack Germany, I went there to be sure I was properly protected.
Sun 09 Dec UTC Lol Russia missed both first moves, Italy went for me. Germany had a clear run in the North. Germany and Turkey prospered.
Not really a game at all
Sun 09 Dec UTC Except very well done to Russia for staying alive
Sun 09 Dec UTC hey, brilliant play France, you let him walk into Marseilles, while you went for Belgium, left Marseilles wide open in the fall of 1901. Then in 1902 you gave him Spain with equally poor play, you had a basic support hold which you failed to see, totally brilliant. If anyone gets a prize for piss poor play, it was certainly, without any doubt, France.
Sun 09 Dec UTC oh, and I forgot 1903, where you failed to cover Portugal and just let him walk into that too.
Sun 09 Dec UTC oh, and you let England walk into Brest too! Such a perfect example of intentionally trying to lose Mr. Frenchy!
Sun 09 Dec UTC Yes I throw the game. At least if you really want to call it s ‘game’.
