23 Nov 18 UTC WP swords!
23 Nov 18 UTC Wait I’m confused. Am I missing something why did France give it to Austria
23 Nov 18 UTC I think he realized the game was done. Austria could take me centers as he wanted which would have given him 18. May be wrong.
23 Nov 18 UTC i was sure that France and Germany were going to lock me out of Tunis and STP, leaving me at merely 17 or 16 Sc. I don’t know why France gave at the moment he did.

It was a pretty close game up until that point, in any case. It was a tense and interesting game!
23 Nov 18 UTC For the record I think I could have been stopped even after England tried to throw sort of.
23 Nov 18 UTC We you all smoking something. When Germany let austria into Munich because of the English the game was over. Austria knew he could take turkey at anytime. Then the idiot German retreated to burgundy. Holy fucking stupid Batman.
23 Nov 18 UTC That was a sucky game. Congrats Austria!
23 Nov 18 UTC I knew I could take turkey at any time sort of, but turkey could still slow me down. After I got Munich in autum 1911, it was still *possible* to defeat me.

Here’s what had to happen:
Germany and France would have to get units into position in Barents, Norway, Finland, and maybe a fleet to poke Livonia if I got set up there. That would FORCE my loss of StP, which can’t be held forever by Austria.

Meanwhile, France had to take Tunis. That was possible on that following turn: TYR to TUN supported by WMS and NAf.

Without Tunis, I NEEDED STP to win, so it would have been a race to roll me out of STP faster than turkey could hold me off - I imagine that turkey would have held out as long as possible just to spite me.
23 Nov 18 UTC Yes, I messed up. No, it wasn't over after that. My retreat into Burgundy was necessary and no problem. We had the game locked up after that, if France would've taken Tunis (locked), kept Marseilles (easy) and helped me into StP (easy). We had an easy draw here, but ssorenn is unfortunately a worse player than me :-(
23 Nov 18 UTC Yea. Strange. But oh well that’s gunboat
23 Nov 18 UTC Gg
23 Nov 18 UTC Idk that’s something almost anyone can learn eventually. If you don’t know or understand what Claesar and I are saying, you should think about it until you get it.

Knowing what’s strategically possible and impossible is very important to gunboat because the other players can’t make up for your lack of knowledge by telling you during the game.
23 Nov 18 UTC From the grave, I was surprised to see Austria hold StP for as long as he did. I would have expected a lot more immediate cooperation to stop him once he got here.
23 Nov 18 UTC I calculated we could remove England before doing so..
23 Nov 18 UTC But that counted on France lending a hand, which he never did.
24 Nov 18 UTC I liked how quickly and decisively Austria terminated Russia. At the end all I could muster was trying to help turkey move forward somehow.
24 Nov 18 UTC My favorite move for myself was autumn 1905, when correctly predicted that I could retreat Bulgaria to Greece, setting up a one-two punch backstab on Italy.
24 Nov 18 UTC Yea I must say that help was nice, let me live until the end. Unfortunately my
only option was to get an army and turtle rather than a fleet and attack.
