10 Oct 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: No problem about the messages. I used to do that all the time too.
10 Oct 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Sweet moves to get Tunis! (I appreciate good play even when I get hammered by it ...)
10 Oct 18 UTC Spring, 1905: ;-)
Figured you were going to want the build for Naples so wouldn't be moving from there.
10 Oct 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Can you hang around to answer a few questions after the game?
10 Oct 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: sure
10 Oct 18 UTC Spring, 1907: I couldn't hold StP so I took a shot that maybe Berlin or Munich would be vulnerable. I guess not ...
10 Oct 18 UTC Spring, 1907: I had a ball - I hope you did, too.
10 Oct 18 UTC Spring, 1907: I'm just going to 'hold' everything while you collect your last 2.
10 Oct 18 UTC I got 2 questions I wanted to ask you: First, did you see any moves that I should have made but didn't make? (Hoping to learn something from the experience ...)
10 Oct 18 UTC GG
10 Oct 18 UTC That is a pretty open-ended question!
10 Oct 18 UTC I know. But any 'Oh my God I can't believe he didn't do <xxx>' moments that you can remember.
10 Oct 18 UTC I wouldn't have built that fleet in 1901.
10 Oct 18 UTC For instance, could I have held Munich or Tunis if I had done things differently?
10 Oct 18 UTC Yeah, I just went back and looked at the map. You moved everything north so there really wasn't a threat in the Med at that point. I guess I had that build in mind and didn't really look at the board. Thanks.
10 Oct 18 UTC Other question: do you find France easier to play than Austria? (I played France twice before and won both times, although it could easily have been the level of competetion ...)
10 Oct 18 UTC The way 95% of these games turn out, the strategy revolves around the capture of St. Pete, Berlin, Munich and Tunis. Austria just needs to hold two of those (and efficiently gobble up another 16) to win the game. If you can grab St. Pete, you can't hold it forever, but you can hold it for a while, so you need to grab all the rest of your centers in a hurry (while also holding one of Tunis, Munich, or Berlin).

I think you built way too many fleets. You want to try to hold Tunis, but that is pretty hard unless you build a bunch of fleets, and that takes away from your other goals of gobbling up all your easy centers. More armies to grab those dots, and try to slow down France as much as possible with one fleet, and then build another in 1903 or later to keep France out of the Ionian (F Nap, F Ion will usually do it).

You can look at my other games and see how they usually go.
10 Oct 18 UTC I think France is at a disadvantage.
10 Oct 18 UTC I actually was just looking at your other games. Very insightful!!

Thanks for your help: enjoyed the game and the conversation..
10 Oct 18 UTC Main goal for France is to try to take Tunis, Munich, Berlin and set up two units in Scandinavia so Russia can't take Norway or Sweden. Once you have those well secured (e.g. 5 units guarding Munich and Berlin), you can take your time cleaning up the rest the centers and grabbing St. Petersburg.
