Game won by Tugster (7967 D)
14 Nov 18 UTC Congrats tugster.

England, I really want you to look back on this game ans try to learn from it, since I blame you almost entirely for the Russia solo. Your constant selfish moves when Russia was at about 14 sc and letting Germany die instead of trying to help cost everyone this game.

And turkey, I think there was some more optimal moves you could've done at the end to hang in, but I don't rly blame you since we had such a low chance for forcing the draw anyways
14 Nov 18 UTC And thanks Germany for working with me vs England after taking over the CD.
14 Nov 18 UTC Thanks France. I made a critical error in being drawn into conflict with England when it was obvious that Russia was on for the solo. I lost one crucial turn. But as you say, England and no resistance from A&I did the rest.
Thanks for working together.
14 Nov 18 UTC Fairly pointless game for me from start to finish to be honest. Germany missing the first turn gave Russia a massive head start. I entered “cancel” immediately as the game was distorted right away unfortunately. But it happens. Turkey took a long time to decide to confront russia and it was too late. And Italy.... the original as I think this is a replacement.... the first Italy’s moves were beyond comprehension. Wasn’t the most fun game I’ve had as Austria.... oh well next time.

Well done tugster. A good player always takes advantage of the mess elsewhere and you did that comfortably
14 Nov 18 UTC Yeah, definitely don't feel that when I (or germany, if I may speak for him) saying A/I was useless is a criticism of you. Immediate italian aggression like that with a slow turkish response is pretty much a death knell for you. I can't think of what more you could have personally done with italy's insistence on killing you
14 Nov 18 UTC well, I was obviously handed many gifts in this game, which I readily accepted.

But, I disagree on the German NMR, as no one touched him and he emerged with a new player at five SC in 1902 and in good shape. This could have been taken advantage of by anyone up north, but I was the first one able to do so, because of the horrendous play in the south by Italy

Absolutely incomprehensible Italian play, from whoever left, of course, the really bad players always leave to conceal who they are after playing so badly. He never even took Tunis! Italy just handed me Austria on a silver platter, and England gave me a free pass for a very long time indeed.

In the north, it was England constant attack on France that gave me the opening, after Austria had been defeated. This was much more decisive that the German slower but very playable start. Once I had mustered the necessary force, Germany had no chance.

In the end, when all of you are trying to defend, the advantage lies with the unified attacker. You had to both guess at what I was doing AND guess at what each other would do, impossible to sustain long term, and eventually someone guesses wrong, which happened.

So, thanks for the game!
14 Nov 18 UTC Gg Russia - well played
14 Nov 18 UTC I appreciate your insight as always, tugster. Gg once again and thank you
14 Nov 18 UTC Interesting that England gets a "survived" in stead of a "defeated" Smart move to take him out to put his unit under your command, as he was never ordering useful orders anyway.
14 Nov 18 UTC Yeah, I was trying to give him a chance. Wanted to save Germany more than I wanted his sc for awhile there
14 Nov 18 UTC Is there a way to see who the people who left were? Will the mods tell me if I ask. I am curious who italy was
14 Nov 18 UTC In VDip I think they list the CD powers at the bottom.
15 Nov 18 UTC It's kinda useless info but I am a bit curiois
15 Nov 18 UTC i do know how to do it but I do see often, players that join big games like see, pay like crap, and quit/CD with one SC left to conceal themselves.
15 Nov 18 UTC play like crap
15 Nov 18 UTC Wait no...
15 Nov 18 UTC ?
15 Nov 18 UTC ive never seen a british win without the other players being dumb and so i thought my best chance was rapid expansion into france and scandinavia
15 Nov 18 UTC unfortunently this simply led to everyone attacking me and i quickly was rendered helpless
15 Nov 18 UTC Whilst I made a fair few mistakes (including an inexplicable mis-order when I failed to bounce in the Black Sea), I don't think that not attacking Russia was one of them. After dealing with Italy's bizarre eastwards suicide attack there was some modest success in the Balkans, after which holding the line appeared to be the best policy in the hope that common sense and harmony would break out in the west, until the last few turns when it became apparent that I had to gamble because Russia would otherwise inevitably pick up 18 around the north west.

But very well played, Tugster. You took good advantage of the opportunities.
15 Nov 18 UTC naw your issue wasnt your early game. England must kill france in order to win, your issue is that once it was clear that nobody had any chance to win and we needed to stop russia you entered in absolutely stupid moves for 5 straight years and were completely ineffective at stopping the Russian advance
15 Nov 18 UTC sorry, I'm talking to england, not turkey with that last message
