06 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Good luck everyone!
13 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1904: Who missed the phase?
14 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1904: I've put in a pause vote, and contacted the mods asking for a replacement. I'd rather avoid NMRs if at all possible, and it seems as though on is looming.
14 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1904: ? who do we think has dropped out
14 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Apparently Italy.
14 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Ok I’ve put pause on already
15 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Moderator: (Claesar): Game paused for an investigation.
16 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Moderator: (Claesar): Game unpaused and phase reset. Have fun all!
16 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: So what happened?
16 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Moderator: (Claesar): On second thought, we have a pause request for this game. Someone is dealing with a family emergency through the weekend (so until next Monday). If you object to this pause, email us webdipmod@gmail.com
23 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: could folks vote unpause please?
24 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: I think just England needs to vote now.
24 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Done
24 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Moderator: (Claesar): Alright, have fun. Email us if you need another pause.
24 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Hope everything is well with whoever had the emergency
28 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Well Italy CDed, so I'm gonna request one last pause from the Mods to find a replacement. But I think we should probably just pause for 24-48 hours and continue whether we get a replacement or not, to keep the game from dragging too much.
29 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Moderator: (Claesar): I see you have a replacement and everything's peachy. Since it's the build phase in a rulebook press game and Italy has no orders to fill in, I won't extend this deadline unless you request me to.
03 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1907: Good game Germany and Turkey.
03 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1907: gg. My back has multiple knife wounds, but there also some wounds around the front and some of them were just me dropping knives into myself by sheer incompetence.
03 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1907: Blargh! I am dead.
03 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1907: Blargh indeed, if someone had told me the title of this game was literal, I never would have joined....
08 Aug 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: I love that Italy has none of Italy and has moved into Vienna
09 Aug 18 UTC I wasn't a fan of that :p Good game all!
12 Aug 18 UTC I guess I'll post an AAR. This is my first game as Austria, and it was absolutely nerve-racking. I loved it.

1901
At the start my primary focus was to survive. After some initial pleasantries with Russia, I tried to arrange a bounce in Gal. They didn't get the messages in time but I told them I was ordering a Vie-Gal. This may have hurt me diplomatically, upon vacating Gal I find Russia has moved in after me. Meanwhile Germany is warring with Italy in an effort to protect me, but Italy snags Trieste any way.

1902
Betrayed by both Italy and Russia, I vow to both of them that I will focus my defence towards them, allowing Turkey to reap the rewards. In the fall, convinced that Italy will cease hostilities, I switch gears and swing back at R/T, who make no progress. Meanwhile, France has entered TYR and NAO under pretence of fighting the R/T, and Germany has held on because of the French misorder.

1903
In the spring Russia, gets into Bohemia and has a 50/50 guess at Vienna/Budapest. But I convince them to cease hostilities and focus on defending the north. They lose two centres anyway. I manage to take Bulgaria but have no space to build. Meanwhile Germany loses it's first centre and France sneaks into Naples.

1904
I believe Italy NMRed during the previous adjustments phase (forcing the undesirable disband of F Tunis) and again during the spring movement. But they did not CD because they continued to log in.

At this point there is a round of pauses, which may have influenced the direction of the game. I am trying to get Russia to move to the Black Sea and they keep refusing. I ask again when the game unpauses and they refuse again. I ask when the game unpauses the last time this time they agree. I don't know whether it was my persistence or the content of my last message that finally convinced Russia, but they finally relented.

Ultimately though, Russia was damned either way. If they didn't attack Turkey I would have attacked Russia as I couldn't attack Turkey alone. My ally Italy I considered a non-threat because of France, and was not a logical choice for expansion. I tried to drop this hint to Russia very subtly without bluntly saying "If you don't help me attack Turkey I'm going to attack you."

Meanwhile I'm trying to reach out to Italy to help them defend against France and Turkey, and I get Bubkis. I think "is this MFer really about to attack me right now?" and correctly predict his moves and defend, finally getting my build from Bul.

Germany is barely holding on with two.

1905

This year I attack Russia, Italy and Turkey. Not a lot of Austrias can say that and live to tell the tale. I finally retake Trieste (there was no way to prevent it even without an NMR), Russia helps me into Con, then in the fall I sneak into Rumania while attempting to withhold Ankara from them. I'm not sure what Turkey was thinking with those orders. There was no way they were retaking Con and the attempt also cost them Ankara.

Italy finally CDs and France and I agree on a split in which I get Venice and they get the rest of Italy, and neither of us follows through. I help Italy defend. I take three SCs but only have room for two builds. Germany goes down to one but manages to get into Burgundy to annoy France which I appreciate.

1906
I make some luck guesses around the Black Sea and easily take Warsaw and Sev. Turkey and Germany are Eliminated.

1907
I think this is the point where a French solo seems to be a real possibility to me. At the very least it doesn't do me any good to let them advance past Italy. If E/F are going to go for the two way draw, I might as well slow them down.

tl;dr The east was a roller-coaster. The west was E/F vs G/R with no stabs. At the end I feared an E/F draw or solo attempt.
13 Aug 18 UTC Good game. It's some small consolation to me that I still "control" Picardy.
