05 Jun 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Hi all, glhf
05 Jun 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Hi all, glhf
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: GameMaster: Trollish was banned: multi/meta. The time until the next phase has been extended by one phase length to give an opportunity to replace the player.
Remember to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily!
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Who was trollish?
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: The replacement player will have a bet of 0, so you will know what country did Trollish control.
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Hi, I’m relatively new to this. What’s Trollish?
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: It's a guys nickname who was in this game.
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: He broke the rules so he got banned.
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Ah right. How did he break the rules?
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Probably because he broke this rule:

"You cannot play a public game with players that you know outside of the site. In doing so, you create an unfair environment for other players by giving yourself the opportunity to form alliances for reasons outside the game. This includes playing public games with family, friends, relatives, coworkers, or even joining a game with any player of a previous game with a predetermined intent to ally with or attack certain players. Additionally, you cannot make deals based on any factors outside of the game. "
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: I don't think he is controlling multiple accounts since you'd see two accounts get banned.
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Thanks. Hard to prove I would have thought!
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: That is the META reason for banning.

There is also the MULTI. When they suspect a multi-account, they send out e-mails to have the "suspects" verify that they are indeed two separate accounts. This is often based on the suggestion of a possibility by another player or on their existing identical IP addresses. If one of the e-mail accounts does not answer, it is automatically banned as a multi-account. If someone in the game IS playing two accounts and did not answer one e-mail but did answer the other, then the one account that did not answer would be banned and the account that did answer would still be in the game. This is what happens 95% of the time. So, if Trollish IS playing in the game under two accounts, he is still in the game with the second account.

Alternatively, it could have been in a completely separate game as the account is frozen and then banned across all games they are participating in. One of the other games I am in was halted for the same individual ban.

It is the reason I only play anonymous games.
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Didn't know only one account of the two was banned if there was a double account suspect.
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: You’ve got to lead quite a sad life that it’s so important to win at Diplomacy that you’ll cheat.
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: It can be certainly fun though since you possess a huge advantage over everyone else and you also get a second chance. I can see why some people would cheat.
23 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Imagine a dip game with four players, three players controlling two nations and that one guy that would be unlucky
24 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: New Austria here. (Not a banned multi guy). I'm in it to win it. Let's play!
25 Jun 18 UTC Spring, 1906: So I'm confused there was multi accounting going on in this game, and only one person got banned. That means the other is still playing?
25 Jun 18 UTC Spring, 1906: If that is the case I wouldn't mind a draw/cancel
25 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: No, he was probably multi-accounting in other games, but only one of his "personalities" was in our game. It doesn't mean he had two in this one particular game, he just had two somewhere with the same IP address. Otherwise we would have seen two people immediately deadlined. All IP accounts are of that same person are banned.
26 Jun 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: Thanks for the clarifications!
03 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Thanks all, good luck. I'm out.
05 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1909: I’ll hold in Silesia till he takes Prussia
09 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1910: We ready to draw this thing?
09 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1910: Are you going to wait for France to go before voting for a draw?
09 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1910: I think thats what is going to happen
10 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1911: Alright Gents, My Draw is up
10 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1911: Mine too, I guess it’s us vs Turkey unless he draws too.
10 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1911: He literally cannot advance any further, so I'm guessing he just hasn't seen it yet
10 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1911: A perfect stalemate, and Italy survives, though not even on home turf. Nice.
11 Jul 18 UTC Great game! It was an enticing offer turkey, I just didn't want to cut out Italy who has been a trustworthy ally
11 Jul 18 UTC That would be a foolish thing to do, just to gain fewer points because of a trustworthy ally who you will never play with again. I had around three situations like these and they tire me out because I have to spend time convincing imbeciles like you.
11 Jul 18 UTC ;) good game bud
11 Jul 18 UTC gg
11 Jul 18 UTC Cant believe I survived. Thanks England.
