13 May 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): Welcome to the 2018 Gunboat Tournament!

You've been placed into seven games. If you're not in seven games, you haven't received each power exactly once, or you feel you've been put in the tournament in error, please contact me as soon as possible.

Games have been paused to ensure that nobody misses a phase due to the abnormal nature of the game starts. If you have not voted unpause by Wednesday, May 15th, I will contact you and begin docking from your seven days of allocated pause time in one day increments. If you need a pause, please let me know.

Good luck!

14 Aug 18 UTC Good game everyone.
14 Aug 18 UTC What if. I ponder the risks of stabbing long term ally versus the profit of reducing it. Here s my decision ... GG!!
14 Aug 18 UTC You made the right call. As much as I would like to have seen England knocked out to increase the pay-out to the rest of us (no offense), it might have opened the door for me to solo if you did.
14 Aug 18 UTC The real turning point was when Turkey messed up the juggernaut in 1906.
14 Aug 18 UTC gg

I completely understand the dilemma of stabbing an ally for points in a tournament, and was wondering if it would begin by Portugal returning to French control. I was just hoping my position containing Russia's northern expansion would out weigh the extra 35 points of a three-way draw.
14 Aug 18 UTC If I was fighting for the top positions (i.e., if I had the hopes of getting at least one solo in the other games), then, maybe, I'd have thought more about it - earlier.

Turkey did not really mess up the JN, imho; it was EFG timing to respond to the southern situation that stopped T. I think. In synthesis.
14 Aug 18 UTC (btw my draw vote was in for a long time)
15 Aug 18 UTC I agree that I stabbed too soon, but I feel like (without looking back too closely) EFG was very stagnant for too long because of it.

I wanted E eliminated (obviously by my backing off the line) and am honestly pretty surprised it didn’t happen but it’s no big deal.

Russia, I thought you played very well and responded to my stab and subsequent walk back very well.
