13 May 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): Welcome to the 2018 Gunboat Tournament!

You've been placed into seven games. If you're not in seven games, you haven't received each power exactly once, or you feel you've been put in the tournament in error, please contact me as soon as possible.

Games have been paused to ensure that nobody misses a phase due to the abnormal nature of the game starts. If you have not voted unpause by Wednesday, May 15th, I will contact you and begin docking from your seven days of allocated pause time in one day increments. If you need a pause, please let me know.

Good luck!

10 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1907: Moderator: (ghug): Sorry, disregard. Doing some cleanup for the replacement and the wires got crossed.
10 Jul 18 UTC Autumn, 1907: Moderator: (ghug): However now I must pause again.

Paused for a missing player.

15 Oct 18 UTC Grats italy
I probably needed to fight him about a year earlier but overall was a tough situation w RT dedicated to my death basically all game long. I think France getting into Trieste basically sunk me since otherwise I could have built a fleet there almost any time. Ah well was an interesting game, grats again to Italy.
15 Oct 18 UTC Cheers mate. I think you're probably right, I'd built up a little too much steam by the time you turned around. But I was doing everything in my power to encourage you to stay on my side up until that point, and we had a solid entente going for a LONG time :)
15 Oct 18 UTC true that. I was also kind of hosed by how aligned the RT ended up being (especially Russia continually allying with Turkey against me, when we probably could have run a very effective AIR 3-way)

I think I needed to help Russia defend Sev against Turkey that one turn to prevent his fleet destruction and make sure Turkey died fast, but beyond that I think it was just kind of a hard spot in a lot of ways. I also lost some tactical coin flips, but I think my standing in the way of Russia holding Sev, and France grabbing Trieste so I couldn't build fleets against you if/when opportunity arose (France, were you trying to throw the game to Italy even then? if so well played, if not idk what the plan was there tbh). So some mistakes were made on my end, but I think I overall played adequately, and probably better than most of my other games in this tourney. Just didn't work out in the end (also like most of my other games in this tourney :P )
