23 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1903: Russia shall be expelling foreign diplomats from all its embassies if this type of thing doesn't stop immediately!
23 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1903: After detailed analysis of their strategy, I'm pretty sure Russia has a nuclear bomb.
23 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1903: Not just any bomb - our scientists have created the Doomsday Device.
24 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1903: Rogue Russian army in Silesia, Suspicious Soviet Navy in the Baltic - i am bordering Sweden, Berlin, Denmark, Kiel and Munich - should be able to irritate the German for the next turn, and a slim chance of taking an SC from him!
24 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1903: Aaaaagh! Wrong tab - that wasn't supposed to be global! Sorry Germany!!
24 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1903: Ha, yeah right Russia. I was quite enjoying our merry dance anyway
25 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: I’m new to ‘computers’, and I had never heard of this Diplomacy game when I stumbled across this website on an Altavista search.

I thought this would be a simulation of the day to day workings of diplomats - you know, debates on fishing quotas, addressing the European Parliament, vigorous lobbying for the implementation of exemption of seatbelt laws for the morbidly obese - that sort of thing.

Turns out this is actually a nasty little game of war! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing! I’ll say it again!

Can we not just all get along?!?

25 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: Can't believe thats worked.

Shoulda let me keep Belgium Germany ;)
27 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: Wow! I’ve never made it to 1904 before! A personal triumph!!!!!
02 May 18 UTC Spring, 1905: It's a bit early for WW1 isn't it? Pass the barbed wire Germany.
02 May 18 UTC Spring, 1905: Yeah, and the Soviet revolution was even earlier!

May I suggest you two start developing mustard gas quickly?
02 May 18 UTC Spring, 1905: We're thinking of asking the Americans to help us this time around.
03 May 18 UTC Spring, 1905: You could always try attaching spikes to the top of your helmets - that usually works.
04 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: In Vienna Freud convinces us of the existence of the 'death drive'.
09 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: Schadenfreude really is the finest of all emotions. France, you let him in the back door.
09 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: ITALY IS STILL STANDING! You're inspiring.
09 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: spain is so nice this time of year.
09 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: We Austrians are retreating to invent Ordo-Liberal economics: In time, Von Mises and Von Hayek's ideas will be popularised and rule the European Union.

Victory is ours.
13 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1907: Wow England dodged a bullet there!
13 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1907: Sorry all. Was away all weekend. Thought I'd get a chance this morning but sadly not
14 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1907: I clicked save on my build but now I can't see who's clicked save or who is still left to go.
14 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1907: Strange, same here
15 May 18 UTC Spring, 1908: Looks like they changed the rules for anonymous games, hence the change. There's an announcement link at the top of the page here now explaining it.
25 May 18 UTC Have a happy and safe holiday weekend, guys! Good game all.
28 May 18 UTC Thanks for the game - and well done 'Bark' - you 'owned' me!

Sorry for slipping away towards the end - there was also a bit of a political event ongoing in Ireland during the game, so I suspect many of us weren't as committed as we could have been.
