03 Mar 18 UTC Thanks for playing all!
03 Mar 18 UTC I understand if you're mad at me for dragging this out.
03 Mar 18 UTC I knew I should of went to Liverpool. Lol
03 Mar 18 UTC gg everyone
03 Mar 18 UTC Was it really worth the extra 5 points?
03 Mar 18 UTC damn that game shouldve ended hours ago... but gg sincerely
03 Mar 18 UTC I did it for the Ghost Rating.. You played a good game, but I was willing to stay up until 5:30AM for this apparently :-/
03 Mar 18 UTC Austria how did you like that ballsy convoy to syria? :D
03 Mar 18 UTC You played very well, Italy. Turned around at the right moments to make sure this ended in a draw.
03 Mar 18 UTC Thanks a lot, you too. I find I do that a lot. I'm the middle man always making wild swings to keep the game alive, but never getting too big. Any tips for a gunboat newbie?
03 Mar 18 UTC Lol it was nice Italy.

I was doing everything in my power to convey that I was 110% fine with a 3/4 way draw and just wanted you to go help Germany eliminate England since it was apparent Germany wasn't accepting the 4 way draw.
03 Mar 18 UTC Trial by fire for sure
03 Mar 18 UTC Great working with you early game Italy. I wasn't going to stab you unless it was for the 18th center. Definitely understand why you moved back my way though
03 Mar 18 UTC Yes, I should have seen that earlier, my bad. I only actually turned around when he got bigger than you, so I'll keep an eye on those votes in the future
03 Mar 18 UTC Yeah. That was rough France. Probably should've gone with the army in Paris instead of double fleets. Just left you wayyyy too open.
03 Mar 18 UTC Yes i was pretty aggressive for a few turns but glad we worked things out. It was going really well between us for a while
03 Mar 18 UTC Haha no worries. I was pretty sure you would stop attacking me if Germany started moving for solo and I was pretty sure Germany would stop you if you made too much progress against me.
03 Mar 18 UTC Well now I know lol
03 Mar 18 UTC Goodnight everyone, solid game.
03 Mar 18 UTC Enjoyed it. Tc everyone.

Sorry for never letting you out of your corner Turkey :(
03 Mar 18 UTC Italy, to answer your question, I think the pivotal point for you was in 1905.

If you look at the board in Autumn 1905, you are tied for top. Germany and England are locked in an equally matched fight. Austria is gaining the upper hand over Turkey. If you do nothing from that position, you'd expect Austria to snowball into board leader while one of Germany or England very slowly gains an advantage over the other by getting lucky or outsmarting the opponent. Once that has happened, you're going to be the middle man and your shot at a solo victory is gone.
03 Mar 18 UTC What you did was send more units west. That disrupted England enough for me to gain the upper hand while Austria grew as expected. Outcome: 3-way draw.

However, Por+Spa+Mar are quite reasonable to defend with minimal units. They're also across the stalemate line (I presume you're familiar with that?). Especially while Germany and England are locked in a mortal struggle. I think that was the moment to stab Austria. Turkey was still at fighting strength but not in great position to take the lion's share, so this would've boosted you to be the menace of the board rather than Austria. With some luck, you might've come into a position where a solo was a realistic scenario (though we could probably still have stopped that).
03 Mar 18 UTC Would've depended on whether England and I are able to cease hostilities and force the draw.
03 Mar 18 UTC I see what you mean germany. I guess I figured you'd come out on top rather than austria so I attacked you, but that was some really bogged down fighting. Austria probably would have been a better target. Thanks
