17 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: Nice; all that effort.
19 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1907: This day won’t slow down, I’ll dig in tonight...
24 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1908: Moderator: (damian): A pause has been requested for 3 days.
27 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1908: Moderator: (damian): That’s 3 days. Have fun folk.
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Cut after cut after cut and at some point, we all have to look at France and think, "Scoundrel."
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: So maybe with France at 15, Turkey and Russia can cut their petty escapades and prop up the Germany/Italian line.
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: It is petty, but it's Italy who is giving the dots away.
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Should not have been a surprise.
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Keep in mind, Turkey feels it is 100% acceptable to take Sev/Rum/Bud/Vie/etc. while Italy and I work to stop the French solo attempt (feel free to review Russian/Italian orders last year, compared to Turkey’s). Turkey thinks he’s very clever to secure second place, and that Italy and Russia (at absolutely *no* fault of Turkey) are throwing the solo to France by not working together (and with Germany) to fight France, again, while Turkey sits in his nice comfortable corner and, like a man worthy of beating his chest for such total domination, cherry picks SCs off the people actually doing the real work...
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Turkey’s way of thinking is quite fascinating! :-)
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Just reviewed Italy's orders.
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: gg England. May we meet again and both prosper.
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Congrats, France, well played!
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Gg France
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Let me guess: F Brest, A Paris, A Marseilles. Cruise over to Barents, Ruhr, Piedmont as a start.
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Come on people, it's not over with yet.
29 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: I agree. The Fat lady is still clearing her throat.
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: @MadMarx, the hypocrisy of your statements, after you purposely gave a solo away in game 1 as soon you were potentially not going secure a top 3 finish, is mind boggling.
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: LOL, should have known that would be your take, you and Turkey are cut from the same cloth! ;-)

Game one, you continually tried to eliminate me through the mid-game and into the end-game, while I was critical to the stalemate line, never giving me any space/security, you got what you deserved, this game, after Turkey stabbed me early and grew more than twice my size, I was able to get relatively even with him after 1906, in 1907, knowing he would come after me rather than help defend from a French solo, I submitted spring *and* fall orders that clearly demonstrated my “all-in” commitment to stop France which provided Turkey all the security he could ever wish for (*and* for all intents and purposes guaranteed him second place if we did stop France, if he had just chilled out for a season or two), but even after that he built an army at the end of 1907 and made it clear to all that he would take Sev/Bud in spring 1908, you cannot remotely compare the two scenarios as being the same, other than you and Turkey being extremely self-centered players (which I know serves you both well, not criticizing, play however you want, just saying)... :-)
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: I'm not sure if I'm a big fan of this tournament. Right now it's probably in Brian's interest to help THM solo so nobody else scores any points.
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: I won’t be playing again. It might have been better if the games had been anonymous.
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: I quite like the non-anonymous aspect. I think the problem is the points system where 4th place is almost always better off helping the solo.
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: I completely disagree with the 4th place sentiment. I’d much rather finish 4th than lose.
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Let's hope enough others feel the same. I think more would if there was an incentive.
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: Personally, my strategy for game one was simply to *not* finish in the top three, to avoid a bigger target on my back (Leagues are a marathon, not a sprint), another solid reason against the theory that I threw a solo in game one because I wasn’t going to finish top three... League play is definitely it’s own beast, this League is *much* better than the original Leagues, but still an acquired taste... Part of the key to not having someone throw a solo is to pay attention to your social game a bit, if when it comes down to it, and you are dependent on others to help stop a solo so you can finish in second place, maybe try *not* being an arrogant self-centered ass season after season, year after year, though that may be a bit old school for some of the newer faces on webDip...
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: 'Personally, my strategy for game one was simply to *not* finish in the top three.' Surely that's just another way of saying I hate having to find fault with my game when I lose. So I try to justify it. Freud would have a field day with you.
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: "maybe try *not* being an arrogant self-centered ass"

+1
30 Apr 18 UTC Autumn, 1908: "newer faces on webDip"

What's the cutoff? I need to know if I should be offended or not.
30 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1909: I think playing in Leagues is somewhat like playing in a two-quarterback fantasy football league. It's a weird system, but it's what we all signed up for -- perhaps some without full comprehension. Then the actual play is a mishmash of people who are playing consistent with the unique format, people who know there's a unique format but don't understand how it works, people who don't even know there is a unique format, and people who don't care.
30 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1909: Oh there is a unique format alright. The point is to score sufficient points to get into the top 7 and not score so few as to be relegated. Or am I missing something?
30 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 1909: Autumn, 1908: "maybe try *not* being an arrogant self-centered ass"
+2
01 May 18 UTC Spring, 1909: I’m sure I was not an arrogant self centered ass.
01 May 18 UTC Spring, 1909: That's something an arrogant self centered ass would say
01 May 18 UTC Spring, 1909: #TrueDat

But in this case it’s true.
01 May 18 UTC Spring, 1909: Show me a Dip player who is not a self centred ass and I will show you a boring arsehole.
01 May 18 UTC Spring, 1909: ^ note the missing arrogant
01 May 18 UTC Spring, 1909: Typical attitude of one of the newer faces on webDip, tsk tsk
01 May 18 UTC Spring, 1909: 2014 makes a 'newer face'. Sorry for my poor attitude towards copy pasting. I will make more efforts to include all words in future.

.... bloody Luddites.
01 May 18 UTC Spring, 1909: Hey, don't shoot the messenger. I'm just echoing the teachings of the great and definitely not arrogant MM.
01 May 18 UTC Spring, 1909: Personally I prefer to be 18 centered.

Nice use of Luddite.
02 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1909: Sorry all, been a little too busy for the self-righteous offensive banter, it takes a bit more effort than it used to...
02 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1909: But you make it look so effortless!
02 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1909: It’s a gift that I have neglected over the years, hopefully it’s like riding a bicycle
06 May 18 UTC gg everyone - That was exhausting!
06 May 18 UTC Moderator: (damian): That’s the end folks. Hang tight for the final scores in the next couple days
06 May 18 UTC GGA
07 May 18 UTC Why take that draw?
07 May 18 UTC It’s forced. Century games only go through 1910.
07 May 18 UTC I think Hanged Man had it right: ' It's a weird system, but it's what we all signed up for -- perhaps some without full comprehension'.
07 May 18 UTC I lost track of the date. Well done THM, you were right there.
