09 Feb 18 UTC Autumn, 1911: I would like to take my last 'gg' back, on second thought.
09 Feb 18 UTC Autumn, 1911: lol
23 Feb 18 UTC gg all, thanks for playing.
23 Feb 18 UTC I'm not happy with this result, but you didn't leave me much choice. So well played.
23 Feb 18 UTC Well played all!!
23 Feb 18 UTC GG all
I think I learned a lot playing this game, was worth playin :D
Special thanks to England and Italy!
23 Feb 18 UTC GG, for second there thought I was going to eliminated.
23 Feb 18 UTC GG all. Thanks for the game everyone. It was fun and I learned a lot. Also thanks to our profs for their insightful contributions. Unfortunately there was no more commentary the last few years. I'll need a couple of days to write an EOG because I have a pretty busy weekend ahead, but I ll see to have it ready by monday

@ England:
What result would you have preferred? You tried to convince me to stab Italy in the late game - was this in order to get to a 3-way draw instead of the 4-way, or did you hope to gain more infuence on the southeastern side of the stalemate in order to stab Germany later in a solo attempt?
If your goal in the late game was to get to a 3-way, eliminating Germany would have been an option
23 Feb 18 UTC Eliminating Germany would've been quite risky. You were in excellent position to grab a lot of Italian territory fast. Add Munich to that (when Germany turns around to fight me) and suddenly the board doesn't look that favourable anymore.
24 Feb 18 UTC England and I had a big risk heading each other but Turkey could easily take down Italy near zero risk, honestly Turkey was in better position than England I guess
24 Feb 18 UTC If Turkey has attacked me, I would have thrown England the solo. There is no chance Turkey would have been able to reach a solo before England.
28 Feb 18 UTC Moderator: (Peregrine Falcon): Thank you everyone for participating in the Fall 2017 Study Group game! Congrats to the winners (/Drawers?).

I'd encourage you all, even those eliminated early, to post an End of Game analysis in the forum thread. It really helps everyone gain a greater understanding about the state of the board at each juncture, and helps solidify what people have learned by reflecting on their game.

The forum thread can be found here: http://webdiplomacy.net/contrib/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=82

Again, thanks for playing! Best of luck in your future games.
28 Feb 18 UTC EOG.

England- played well throughout the game. I decided to stab you early though by helping France so I could cross the stalemate line otherwise I believed you would have grown much faster than I could have. You and Germany both wanted more SC’s than I, which I didn’t think was fair because I would have been the main reason France was to fall. I think you stood a legitimate shot at soloing if you had stabbed Germany in 1910.

France- your NMRs ruined any chance you had at surviving and lack of press made you a less than ideal partner. I decided to ally with you anyway because I figured it would get better. It did not but got worse and serverily ruined my chances of a solo.

Germany- played well. You had a chance of soloing but that vanished quickly when you stayed allied with England despite him abusing you and taking centers that should have been yours. I believe you would have been better off stabbing him in 1905 and taken Den.

Austria- again played well. Almost got yourself back in the game. I blame myself for that, i didn’t notice that you could build and should have taken all your homecenters. After you last stab you were too risky to keep around.

Turkey- I think you could have finished me off in the end and been fine. You also played well. Not much to say about you as we didn’t talk too much.
28 Feb 18 UTC Russia- didn’t talk much and hardly responded to my press.
01 Mar 18 UTC EOG.

First turn
Germany - I offered WT, honestly didn’t expect to succeed but could at least get some advantage together early stage. Anyways France didn’t agree upon my idea and screwed me which forced me to stay a minor ally of any my neighbors.

Fall of Russia
As Italy pointed out, I got my first and last chance to expend, even reach out for the solo first by stabbing England but my problem was, the 2 allies I shall inevitably cooperate were
Russia – He or she, has been threatening me all from the start of the game that he will soon crush me together with England, not mentioning any of confines to England which seemed weird to me
France – mostly played gunboat game by himself, not communicating fair with anyone as far as I know, also never stopped lying to me from the start about even all the minor issues that were unimportant
so rather than taking the risk going together with allies untrustfull, I chose to eliminate Russia with England

Age of Italy
Italy – I think you deserves MVP of this game. Your derangement against Austria and Turkey artistic, and think you stayed quite fair time position to aim solo. But in my view, your critical mistake was deciding to ally with our gunboating France, you wasted much of your moves in west supporting him which lead losing force in east and more important, made England-Germany alliance firm – if you just let us take some centers from France easy, I think we mostly tried to stab each other after France is gone :P
Anyways Italy’s eliminated de facto in end games, lucky Turkey was so paranoid about England solo.
Austria – Nice recover I would say, I was really ready to support you fully fight against Italy and Turkey if you kept our agreements handing me War, but instead you chose to believe Turkey and stabbed by him, something like diplomatically :D

Age of England
England – As anyone agrees, England hold best position throughout the game and had chances to expend without much risk so while others blamed me that I act England’s puppet, I put good effort to block his chance to win solo and as a result succeeded! Only shame if you took a bit risk to stay your army in Sev OR moved on Sev again with me while Austria was still alive, we might have break I&T hold line before they are prepared and finish the game by our will not Turkey’s.
Turkey – Nothing much to say, you remained as a major force to decide the game drawn in the end but mostly out of participating important events throughout the game. You could put some faith on me and end up 3way draw cause even if Italy tried to throw his centers to England, I could easily disturb it and keep hold stalemate lines.

Overall thanks to all players, professors, organizer and spectaters! (if there were any lol)
01 Mar 18 UTC I think there were a lot of spectators, but I doubt many held on until the end :)
I'm putting the finishing touches on my EOG, but that will be slightly delayed.
05 Mar 18 UTC Moderator: (Peregrine Falcon): Thanks for your End of Game analyses, you two. I'd encourage everyone who hasn't yet to submit one as well.
05 Mar 18 UTC Right, I'm still working on it :)
