12 Oct 17 UTC gg, wp
12 Oct 17 UTC France, spring 1905, was italy's first move west and you then went for England and let him into Mao. Mao is EVERYTHING, worth 2 or 3 SC. Never, ever, let anyone pass the straits of Gibraltar
12 Oct 17 UTC Letting me into MAO was bad. Disbanding Portugal was probably even worse.
12 Oct 17 UTC He continued attacking England for several turns while you consolidated your grip in Iberia and the Atlantic, several bad move and disband choices. France, I'm serious when I say NEVER give up Mao to ANYONE. It's worth about the same positional value of three SC
12 Oct 17 UTC Three Italian fleets past the straits and an Italian army in Paris, Germany tried his best, but no way to push that back.
13 Oct 17 UTC GG all. I've been just trying to delay the inevitable. WP Italy. WP Tugster.

France, I think you might be new to the game, it's OK. Next time, when you see that a nation is on 14-15 supplies (or sometimes 12-13), you should stop attacking all other nations and build a solid defence line against that dominating nation (in this case Italy). You see that I never ever ever attacked you, yet you had the Channel and London support holding each other for many turns, instead of trying to push Italy back.

In gunboats, you also need to read the messages that other players sent, I voted draw and cancel to indicate that we should all go and fight Italy.
13 Oct 17 UTC Also France, you should check the orders in the orders section at the bottom left corner every turn, you will see that my North Atlantic Ocean was ordered to support English Channel into MAO for many turns.
13 Oct 17 UTC If you had built a defence line against Italy (instead of just letting Italy in, in fear of Italy's power), we would have achieved a draw and gotten some coins out of this game. It's OK, I learnt it the hard way when I was new too.
13 Oct 17 UTC I want to know who the old Austria is...going for Munich in 1901 was funny..
13 Oct 17 UTC did someone take over Austria? I think it was the same player all along. maybe I just didn't notice.
13 Oct 17 UTC Oh you are right Italy, it is the same player...I just saw 0 coins and thought it was a 0 bet, but it's not.

Austria, as Austria, never go for Germany until you need Munich as your 17th or 18th. The goal is not to maximise SC count every turn, you need to think about long term implications and how you can hold the SC you gain. You were next going to be able to hold Munich, two of your units were required to attend to Munich and you still didn't keep it. You could have used those two units to defend against Italy much better. If you didn't go for Munich, Italy wouldn't have had a chance to get Tri.
13 Oct 17 UTC You were never" going to be able to hold Munich
13 Oct 17 UTC Wow, ding, you are starting to sound like me, scary...
13 Oct 17 UTC Haha I learn from the best Tugster :)
13 Oct 17 UTC see my most recent ghost gunboat rating? 32.
13 Oct 17 UTC Nice! I am 95...but it will probably drop next month...this game certainly didn't help!

I am 52 overall though :)
13 Oct 17 UTC I've gone from playing 18 games at once to about 5 - too busy in life at the moment. I have not been spending enough time on thinking about moves. I feel I can probably only properly play 2 games at the same time at the moment.
13 Oct 17 UTC I am currently playing all of my 1 day/phase gunboats as if they are live games - spending less than 5 mins on each turn.
13 Oct 17 UTC I like playing the huge giant gunboats, like world, especially. Modern, not so much, I hate the build anywhere rule, ruins the game I think. home SC create a SC line of new units that balances the game better in world and fall of American empire.
13 Oct 17 UTC I too hate the build anywhere rule. World just seemed too daunting to me so I've never tried it. Perhaps I should give it a go.
13 Oct 17 UTC Well, annoying things happen, like you make a great defensive move to block a key place on the front line, then the enemy builds there. ridiculous. It's not a very balanced map either.
13 Oct 17 UTC the world map is really great, first there is a small 1 v 1 or 1 v 1 v 1 little local war, then people tend to take over continents and it morphs into a giant global naval positional war, where people fight to dominate the seas and set up convoy routes, it's a cool map.
13 Oct 17 UTC Sounds really interesting! I will definately give world a go when I get a chance!
18 Oct 17 UTC guys, we need five more people for this huge EPIC game of OPEN PRESS World Dip, will be hilarious fun!
