06 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1908: I mean I havent lied to Turkey all game as far as I know?
06 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1908: I dont *think* ive lied to France either
06 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1908: Russia attacked me early for not promising Sweden in S01....

I should have lied my ass off.
06 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1908: Yeah, you're laughing France, but that style will kill you in a lot of games - I'm curious to see your record.
06 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1908: I'm just disappointed I relented instead of taking you with me.
06 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1908: Salty
06 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1908: Germany. You shouldve worked with me
06 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: I should have lied.
06 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: Then, my horrible play and some solid moves by you crippled me :/
06 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: Just hit the draw button now and we can move on.
06 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: Yeah I'm laughing, Italy. You're saying you play your games being honest with everyone?
06 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: In anon games people tend to lie a little more often than in games where you know who your opponent is. It's all part of the game.
06 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: Mostly, yes. With only strategic deception typically mid-game or later. I detest the lie-out-of-the-gate style you employed.
06 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: Sometimes it's necessary to gain the upper hand. I should have and I might still be around if I had.
06 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: ^^It's a game of lying. And yes, semi-anon/anon is a factor as well - doesn't matter if you're a known lier if no one knows who you are.
07 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: I dont feel anyone was horrendously lying. But then again I based my plan around purity and kittens
07 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: I'm not talking about you Russia. How should I have known France way lying to me in the first couple of years? When I saw any message from him - that's how. It was all lies. He even lied about not lying. I think he must have studied a psychopath to pull off such lies without a pang of guilt.
07 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: I also must have had a better gameplan than you, hence our current positions.

Chill dude it's diplomacy. If you can't handle lying, maybe find something else to play.
07 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: Lying isnt always well received France.
07 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: Yeah, I'm seeing that pretty clearly.
07 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: I'm chill. Not taking it personally at all. Lol.
I can "handle" lying just fine, but that doesn't mean I'll smile and complement you on the technique - I'd rather shame you and point out you aren't able to win without that deception because I want to discourage the use of straight-out lying in games - if shaming helps, great. That and lying should bite you often (and should have this game - I'm kicking myself for that, not you).
Apparently you're the one struggling to receive criticism and getting defensive about it, France. You'll notice I'm not getting upset and telling you to chill.
07 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: Basically, lie if you want, but there are repercussions. Players shouldn't feel like they can lie and have no bad feelings about it. Those repercussions are:
1) It should cost you in games if you lie early (it should have here -my bad)
2) You need to live with yourself knowing you are lying all the time to try to win - if you can do that, I can't call that a particularly admirable trait. Some try to downplay lying as "part of the game" and I can accept strategic and selective use of deception for that purpose, but not as a full blown central strategy.
07 Apr 17 UTC Spring, 1909: I lied to you a lot. That's about it. Funny how you seem to think all I do is spin tales to everyone and hope it works out, which I agree is a horrible strategy. It "should" cost me in games? Why? Because you don't like it?

A is planning to attack B. B asks about A's moves. A tells the truth? Of course not. A stays silent? Another horrible move. A changes course and decided to not attack anyone the entire game? Not possible. What does A do? A lies. It doesn't make A a player who lies constantly and lies to everyone. It IS part of the game, as much as convoys and supply centers. And hell no, I don't feel guilt. I'm assuming people playing a Dip game know they will be lied to, and expect to get lied to.

I understand where you're coming from in the sense that you personally aren't a fan and don't like it, but that doesn't mean others can't or shouldn't use it as a tool to their full advantage.
07 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1909: Good to hear you're living guilt free - can't manage it myself. I should have made you pay for it - that was my bad - I was doing it, and then relented
07 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1909: Just hit draw. . .Do it
07 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1909: Just ready up England so they can end it - be a good sport.
07 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1909: I dunno maybe France will let me solo
07 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1909: What do ya say old blue should I play this out? Lol
07 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1909: You look a bit outgunned in the north, lol.
07 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1909: I would love to see a Russian solo, but I don't see it happening.
07 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1909: Cash me ousside turkey. Howbowdah
07 Apr 17 UTC Autumn, 1909: I mean, I'm down to fight it out, but I don't see any reason why we should - end result is going to be the same.
07 Apr 17 UTC I agree. I don't see Russia taking 6 of my dots before France starts taking dots off him in the lowlands and in Germany/Scandinavia. A 3WD is how this game should end.
07 Apr 17 UTC Good game, y'all. Was fun!
07 Apr 17 UTC Good game guys.
07 Apr 17 UTC I really am shocked at who is who. OB you were so apologetic for armenia moves. I didnt know you had that in you!
07 Apr 17 UTC I hate you all.
Especially you
07 Apr 17 UTC Good game all! Biojay denied the draw :(

Brain, I'm always a nice polite player in dip...until I'm not.
07 Apr 17 UTC :)
07 Apr 17 UTC Never played with MoscowFleet before. He now has an unsavory reputation in my book. Good game to the rest of you.
07 Apr 17 UTC Given the opportunity I would pinch all of you on the soft sensitive side of the triceps
07 Apr 17 UTC Haha! I still have a bruise you jerk. Seriously though, what the fuck was that autumn 1902 move England? Just decided to stab Germany and France simultaneously?
07 Apr 17 UTC I kinda mixed up games and entered moves thinking I was in that other game. I was completely and utterly stupid. No big surprise.
07 Apr 17 UTC The plan initially was actually a WT, but of course when England stabbed that was off. Strong play from brain early to cripple Matticus.
07 Apr 17 UTC He promised to deny me Sweden. To me that made my decision easy. Destroy the German or die trying
07 Apr 17 UTC Russia and I got into a battle because I wasn't automatically going to concede Sweden in S01. I didn't play conservatively enough when Russia came at me. Also, I literally had the perfect order set 3 different times in the game to defend against Russia's movements, then decided to second guess myself. I won't be doing that any more.
07 Apr 17 UTC I said it would depend
07 Apr 17 UTC I didnt like that
07 Apr 17 UTC I figured, lol
08 Apr 17 UTC I tried to get a CPA going. But no one wanted to play ball. Figured my chances were fairly slim after that.

But it was still fun. I have dreams of one day soloing with Austria. It's part of my bucket list.
