06 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: Dear Turkey. Please stop sending back dead ambassadors. We are sending in naval forces to control black sea in hope of pressing this point
06 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: Well we have already banned your embassies in our country due to your breach on territorial integrity.
06 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: There are no embassies to ban --- they are empty as our ambassadors keep getting shot. Yes - territorial integrity is important. We remember an early incident in the Eastern Black Sea where Russian territorial integrity was breached;-)
06 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: We all need to hold some peace talks in a neutral country - say Switzerland.

Oh crap - Switzerland no longer available.
07 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: Iceland
08 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: Russia is expanding quickly. We need to stop him from recreating the soviet union!
08 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: The Russian agression has gone to an extent where the capital of Turkey has been moved into Saudi Arabia
09 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: No - we don't believe in communism! It's these types of lies from Turkey that don't resolve our dispute ;-)

Also - we still haven't received an apology for your attack on our naval forces a couple of years ago. Therefore we figured Ankara would suffice.
10 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: As those in the americas say - Happy Thanksgiving all. Much better to be playing pretend war for fun than real war
11 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: It is only Thanksgiving in Canada today. Not any other American country.
12 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1999: Oh true. poor Americans - as usual unable to keep up with Canada ;-)
15 Oct 16 UTC Spring, 2000: we have to stop the Russians asap. Otherwise Russia will get the solo. The British Isles is already his, and he is not going to stop there.
15 Oct 16 UTC Spring, 2000: This coming from a guy who just brutally took out the peaceful Egyptian empire :-(. Let's all take a moment of silence... OK - now what were we talking about? Oh ya -
the British isles are already Russian? This news hasn't reached Moscow yet! ;-)
20 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 2000: Breaking reports from Turkish news: Russia is about to take over Italy!!!!!!!!

Oh wait - Turkish news issuing a retraction. Its actually Spain and Turkey invading Italy. Turkey diplomats also admit being ashamed for asking Italy to help stop the horrible russian bear ;-)
20 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 2000: Egypt - thank you for playing! You were a good sport and fun to talk to. Hope to meet up again
20 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 2000: Egypt - thank you for playing! You were a good sport and fun to talk to. Hope to meet up again
20 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 2000: It's not over yet, Russia! Everyone here in Iran is confident the Turks are just here to sample our traditional Iranian dishes.
20 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 2000: GameMaster: Vytox was banned: Duplicate/multi. The time until the next phase has been extended by one phase length to give an opportunity to replace the player.
Remember to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily!
20 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 2000: Damn cheaters. Give me munich back! :)
22 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 2000: Egypt - sorry, yes of course Turkey might leave!! If he promised he would - then he means it - same as when he promised not to attack me at beginning of game ... Oh oh.

Germany - maybe this 3rd French player will be easier for you to talk to. All the best in persuading him to give Munich back. If Turkey can help mediate - you can trust the 5000 troops that accompany the mediator.
31 Oct 16 UTC Spring, 2001: Hey Turkey - I have a suggestion on where you can retreat A Iran... ;-)

Hey Germany - I don't think France is planning to give you Munich back. Well, at least he plans to let you keep Belgium right?
01 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 2001: The moderators are still trying to explain to Iran that they can't retreat to Pakistan or Afghanistan. Can someone please try to help Turkey see reason? Aye karumba

01 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 2001: Nuuuuu i wanna go to pakistan :(
02 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: Oh geez - you would retreat to Iraq! ;-) Why can't we have peace instead of this ongoing border feud! I am still willing to let bygones be bygones ... even though you murdered hundreds of Russian sailors in the E.Black sea, destroyed my Egyptian friend and now supported Poland to attack Rumania. The Russian ability to endure such things and still offer an olive branch is really quite amazing.
07 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: Hey France - what's up? You seem like a much better sport than the first 2 french players. Surprised you are mia
08 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: Yo Russia - shut up. You are talking too much.
08 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: I know right?
08 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: it's almost as bad as guys who talk too little ;-)
10 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: I find it amusing that whenever you try to spark conversation in the chat by calling out specific people, the person who you call out never responds.
10 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 2001: Global chat for fun --- if person responds, great - if not, oh well ;-)
13 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 2002: What a mess in the british isles! 4 nations not agreeing on things. Turkey and Italy - please send peacekeeping forces to Britain!
14 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 2002: Gg the russians are coming
15 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 2002: Gossip - it's all gossip I tell ya. Hey, we knew Turkey not happy with our naval presence in Ankara so we banished that fleet. I hope this eases tension and promotes dialogue.
21 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 2002: Welcome France #5! Long live and prosper! Hope you can speak Spanish and german ;-)
25 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 2003: Las Vegas is now taking bets on whether there will be a France #6 ... and an over / under bet on how many people will have played France by end of game.
30 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 2003: Hi all -- I note Germany isn't agreeing to a draw. I wonder if this is because the terms aren't acceptable to him. I am working on convincing him to submit such a vote.

This said - the Politburo is voting each phase on whether to submit a draw vote ... and so far the 'war faction' is barely outvoting the 'peace faction'. Peace will of course come to Europe one day - how soon is to be seen.
02 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 2003: Ok - I spoke too soon - somebody got to Germany. Was it my peace faction?
08 Dec 16 UTC Spring, 2004: Welcome France #6! Vegas winnings coming my way for predicting your arrival. I wish you fame and fortune. Practise your spanish ;-)
10 Dec 16 UTC Spring, 2004: It gets lonely when nobody talks anymore in a game - at least not with me :-(

Italy -- I hope you haven't been coerced by the dark side. They offer great riches but also a horrible corruption of the soul. Keep to the light - have some more vodka - a bit more borsch - all is good.

Germany -- I honestly do NOT want to take you out --- if there's a draw, would be cool to have you in it even if with 1 center (have seen that in lots of games). I have ideas - will message you
10 Dec 16 UTC Spring, 2004: Spain and Turkey - brilliant work guys - I thought I was clever to hatch a plan to go take Adana after realizing I couldn't keep Istanbul. Well -- ya -- it worked but looks like I can't keep it. Damn you both ...:-) I say that respectfully
10 Dec 16 UTC Spring, 2004: Umm - Italy?
11 Dec 16 UTC Spring, 2004: Turkey and I have been comrades for a long time.
A shame italy doesn't appear to have submitted moves this turn.
11 Dec 16 UTC Spring, 2004: (comrades within this game, of course)
14 Dec 16 UTC My ally is back! He hadn't told me where he went bit I respect his right to privacy. Russia of course had to take action to safeguard Italian territory if their leader had abdicated ...
14 Dec 16 UTC Spain and Turkey -- I'll pay your leaders 1 million rubles to abdicate.
14 Dec 16 UTC Ok -- what's the over / under on a 7th French player? lol --
14 Dec 16 UTC well -- the French will cease to be a problem - thank god
16 Dec 16 UTC Oh - that was a surprise! I was actually not sure yet how I was going to get past 32 to be honest as it appeared Italy, Spain and Turkey might be working together to put up a wall.

Good game all - you fought well (except France).
17 Dec 16 UTC GG all!
21 Dec 16 UTC Thanks Germany for being a good sport and glad you survived. It was a tough fight. Italy giving up at end instead of trying to force draw was a surprise

Spain and Turkey - you fought well and this game was dn close to a draw. You are both good diplomats - would love to hear any commentary.
