01 May 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Good Luck, everybody!
Looking forwards to a great game with you all.
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1901: hello everyone. Since i am a beginner to this game does anyone have any tips that i could use?
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Well, as Germany, you're in the middle, so you tend to get involved with both sides of the map. You'll usually want to ally with either Britain or France, though basically anybody is a possibility for alliance. Where you go from there depends on who you work with.
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1901: You can also usually find some good intro material if you just google it, though the search might be polluted by political pieces as well.
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1901: There's quite a bit of information here:

http://www.diplomacy-archive.com/home.htm
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1901: what is the point system and how does it work?
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Right here:
http://webdiplomacy.net/points.php
They're basically the bet you place to join a game.
Winner(s) get the points
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Have you read the intro?
http://webdiplomacy.net/intro.php
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1901: The points are covered in the FAQ. But a quick rehash is that you wager points per game. All accounts start with 100 points, and if the points are lost through completed games, you will not fall below 100.
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1901: ok. i think i sort of understand how the point system works.
04 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: how can you make a game go a little faster?
04 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: The turn progresses after everyone confirms, or the time runs out. The phase is set to 4 days right now, so each phase will last a maximum of 4 days. any shorter is up to everyone being ready ahead of time.
04 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: ok. is there any way to lessen the maximum?
04 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: No; That's set when the game is created
04 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: k
13 May 16 UTC Spring, 1903: Alright, just so everybody knows, I'm gonna be away from wifi this weekend.
I'll be back late Sunday, so no need to pause the game, but I won't be responding to messages for a bit.
14 May 16 UTC Spring, 1903: Have a great weekend Russia! Drink lots of vodka for me!
14 May 16 UTC Spring, 1903: Since I'm too young to drink, drink orange juice for me!
15 May 16 UTC Spring, 1903: I'm back in civilization, everybody! Thanks for the support, though there was no vodka, unfortunately. I can do the OJ, though.
16 May 16 UTC Spring, 1903: What's a weekend without vodka? And isn't oj just a mixer?
16 May 16 UTC Spring, 1903: Unfortunately, Livonian potato production has slowed enough to reduce vodka production. Something about "feeding the peasants" and other such nonsense.
04 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1905: i got a live game going called Lets Play if any of yall want to join
21 Jun 16 UTC Autumn, 1906: It's been a great game, guys, but I'm afraid I have to go. I've contacted the mods about getting a new player in here; we'll have to see how that goes. Still, it's been great playing with you, and I hope the new guy enjoys it too. This has probably been the most personable WebDip game I've done yet. I'll miss you guys. Go easy on the new guys for me, will ya?
-Nikov, the "Old" Russia
21 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1907: I voting to pause until we get the new Russia here
22 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1907: Hopefully old Russia sees this and can vote for the pause as well.
22 Jun 16 UTC Spring, 1907: Sure thing. I'll still have webdip access for a few more hours.
28 Jun 16 UTC Autumn, 1907: new russia here. from what i can tell it has been a good game. lets hope it continues.
06 Jul 16 UTC Autumn, 1907: And we apparently lost Austria...
06 Jul 16 UTC Autumn, 1907: And apparently I can't pass up such a deal...
08 Jul 16 UTC Spring, 1909: I propose a 4-way draw. And it's England's fault for getting greedy.
