05 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Apologies all that I missed spring-1901, it wont happen again that I miss a season. Regards, Turkey.
08 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: new Italy here, it seems I'm the third Italy?
08 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: Hi Italy, you're Mussolini II.
08 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: Well, it seems in 1902 one of you have written to italy about "the former italy". And in 1902 it wasnt me, so if in 1902 there was a formen then now there are two former..
15 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1907: i suggest a common front to contain germany let me know if you agree - i think if w fight he will go solo
15 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1907: ?:)
15 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1907: i have set draw
15 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1907: Austria - that's what we suggested two seasons ago but you reneged on the deal and decided to use the opportunity to capture BUL instead. So my word of caution all others - don't trust on any deal with Austria.
Germany is way far from soloing in any case so I think your motives are unclear.
Regards, Turkey.
18 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1909: Why are Turkey, Germany and France not setting draw? You still plan to win solo?
18 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1909: Austria, that was not a good turn to NMR
18 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1909: I was hoping for a CD on the retreat as well, but a man can only have so much luck in life ;-)
18 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1909: turkey, do you want germany to solo? Or why dont you set draw?
18 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1909: I don't set Draw because there is more Game to be played. Outcome will be a 3 or 4-way Draw. I don't see that the Board leaders will agree to anything else.

Thanks for the Game to all. This was a well attended and played Game, although with the 12-hr format I think the Diplomacy was a bit thin.
Some comments on Turkey Game.
Spring-1901 was disastrous as I missed the Spring move. Austria cleverly tactically moved to exploit this and blocked me to BUL.
This sort of defined my Game and boxed me in, always struggling for the 4th SC. I had a brief ray of light when a good new Italy joined, and we partnered against Austria in the south. However this unity collapsed when I believe Italy made a flawed move and allowed Austria into ION, which weakened Italy's hand.
Austria made a dastardly move, against an agreement, to then recapture BUL ;-).
I doggedly defended throughout Game and at various points rallied support from Italy, Russia, Germany to prolong my survival far longer than was due.
Fortuitously for me there came a rushed and sudden Draw. I think this was a strategic error on part of F-I-A, who represented a strong triumvirate and the one that was strongly ascendant. I think these had all switched to Draw just to exert Diplomatic pressure on Germany and show unity. I noticed this and then quickly switched to Draw and suggested to Germany that he do the same or risk being eliminated by a unified FIA. So then I got an unlikely Draw for Turkey. Thanks for the Game all and well played to all, and especially France - Germany played a really effective early game alliance to become Board leaders.

Agreed, good game all. Early game thoughts, as I told Germany, I always prefer the FG alliance to EF or EG. English fleets to the north are just too threatening to both defenses. We effectively crippled the English defenses with the convoy in '03. I should have taken better advantage of a weak/inexistent Italy in the south after that instead of backing into Spain.

Midgame - I stand by what I've said to you Germany, due to communications between the two of us growing stale, I (probably inadvisably) decided I needed to slow your growth since you had not guaranteed me anything as far as end of game, and the three northern fleets with nothing to do also worried me. I'm still unsure whether you would have marched on to the solo had I not interceded. I should have swallowed Italy here rather than dancing around him. Once decided though, I made another critical error in not confirming with Italy that I agreed to his plan for me to move to Ionian and push after Turkey together. That slowed that route down by us having to navigate each other in precarious positions.

EOG - The grind to manuever into defense mode. I knew my border at least would prevent the German armies from moving West. Several disappointing sequences from Austria really prevented the FAI triumverate from gaining momentum. I'm not as convinced as Turkey that we would have been able to really drive out Germany. Turkey would have been eliminated, sure, but the German was too established, and any mistake could have tilted him into the solo. I believe Germany could have easily soloed this if he had better positioned his four fleets in the north. He allowed me to get back into position.

Overall, fun game. A five way draw is never very gratifying, but as Turkey said, the diplomacy in this game had grown stale.
